After hearing a street preacher in Akron, Ohio, at the age of seventeen, Tozer (1897-1963) began a lifelong search for God. He was a self-taught pastor, writer, and editor whose compelling words continue to grasp today's believers' hearts and stir their spirits. He wrote more than forty-five volumes, including The Pursuit of God, The Knowledge of the Holy, and The Purpose of Man, all of which are considered masterpieces.
