Tradd Cotter

Tradd Cotter is a microbiologist, professional mycologist, and organic gardener who has spent more than twenty-two years tissue culturing, collecting native fungi in the Southeast, and cultivating both professionally and experimentally. Mushroom Mountain, which he owns and operates with his wife, Olga, was formed in 1996 to investigate the use of mushrooms in various businesses. It now has over 200 kinds of fungi for food production, mycoremediation of environmental toxins, and natural pesticide alternatives. His main research focus is on low-tech and no-tech mushroom growing methodologies so that anyone, anywhere in the globe, can grow mushrooms on almost anything. Mushroom Mountain is now expanding its laboratory and research area to 42,000 square feet near Greenville, South Carolina, in order to support commercial production and mycoremediation operations. In Liberty, South Carolina, Tradd, Olga, and their daughter, Heidi, dwell.
