About the Author: Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) wrote a number of well-known novels, including Mrs. Dalloway (1925), To the Lighthouse (1927), and Orlando (1928), as well as A Room of One's Own (1929), a feminist rallying cry. Woolf released her second novel, Night and Day (1919), when she was 37 years old. She is regarded as one of the twentieth century's most influential modernist writers.
