101 light weight fun, a great look at my favorite Isle.
This well written book answered 101 questions I might have had or didn 't know that I could have answered. The book is searchable, but flows wonderfully if you want to move through Irish history just. A series of mini-essays in chronological order that give you a great taste and allow you to target those areas you want to target for more depth.

   Interesting information
I had picked this up when it was free, but then forgot it. While I took a break from 100 year old mysteries, I read this and rediscovered it. There is a wealth of good information about Irish mythology, history, religion, immigration and politics. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in the history of Ireland and what led to where modern Ireland is now. It has been described as a collection of miniessays in a good review and is a good way to present it.

101 things you didn't know about Irish History
This book is a gem of a little. It gives you a beautiful potted version of the main events on the line of Irish history. It is full of interesting facts and fascinating snippets, which somehow doesn 't make it into the usual scholastic versions of Irish history. It ends however before the Celtic Tiger bubble burst, so that as history is continually made, later editions have to have more than 101 things to relate to. But I still recommend it to give a good overview of the important points from early Irish history up to almost the present day.

   OK
Don 't know that it was a gift to someone. Haven 't heard any negative comments so I assume there has been no issue.

   Interesting Irish History
It is, in some places, written tongue and cheek, which makes it even more interesting, whether you are Irish or not. I liked the way it was created.

   Brief history of Ireland
New brand new book. I received a beautiful short, well written history. Alongside, I am listening to a great book on CD, How the Irish saved civilization. Much more detail is provided by :
