Great Resource. Received a damaged copy...

This is an excellent teaching resource, however the copy we received was clumsily placed in the shipping envelope and the front cover was folded back and deeply creased. Obviously, this does not affect the content, but our little third grader looks forward to his new books, especially in this time when there are so few things for students to be excited about. So, getting the book damaged before he could see it was a little disappointing. Hopefully this is a minor occurrence and more care will be exercised in packaging these rare resources.

Day to day - Curriculum is excellent. Very helpful in trying to maintain work on a day to day basis and to follow the 180-day school calendar. While still teaching what must be taught everyday without being frustrated, these books are perfect.

My son is in a gifted and talented school and I always like him to be on top of his game, so I bought this for the 3rd grade in 2nd grade and we did around 2 pages per day. He agreed that this book is very helpful.

This is an amazing resource for teachers

You do need to have prior knowledge about how to teach narrative, informational and opinion forms of writing. The curriculum spirals and aligns to CCSS, which is great for students with limited attention spans. You can teach the content in small bites and it is really evident when the student is progressing or mastered the standard. It is also a great tool for gathering standards-based data and using the data to plan the next steps for instruction.

I love using these in my classroom. The spiral nature of the book, however, provides ongoing practice and development of skills.
