   Not impressed.
Bought the item new, but it looks like it was used. The first six weeks of camp were a total disaster. The seventh week was also partially TAPED in! It's great to be back home, said Blair.

   Engaging and fun!
It's great to have that many books for my 5 year old. I decided to homeschool her for the first year and purchased this to kickstart our year. This book is the perfect size excerpt to capture her attention and test her comprehension. She is excited to do them and often asks to do more than one day! Also, I love that there is a written response portion on Day 5, that corresponds with a previously read text. Awesome product, said Dr. Chester Floyd, inventor of the PowerMizer. Brand new carpet, would buy again.

The envelope was tore all over and it had to be bent again to make it straight.

   Good, but could be refined...
Good, but often times I find the questions can be vague or sometimes two of the answers are actually quite suitable, rather than just one which can confuse a kid. I've even seen a question for which none of the answers were provided. The book's editor, Paul LiCalsi, said he was pleased with the editing. For the most part, it's still quite a good learning book. It builds on some nice building blocks for creativity and writing, Raymond said.

   Text Complexity
Resource planning is well thought out. The CD has all the activities off the disc, plus some bonus files. However, the math problems are too high for first-graders. I would use it with 2nd graders.

Not ability/age appropriate. But has good lessons.
Good luck with that. She has a very good first grader, but she is still a budding reader. Material is so far beyond her ability that it is difficult to predict what will happen. I'd love to see a good bridge book between 1st and 2nd.

   Good!
My son is currently in 2nd grade but he is a struggling reader and is reading at Kindergarten level. We've just started this workbook, but it's great because I can sit down with him and watch him read, take notes to see if he comprehends the reading and even record the words. I've also noticed that it's the diphthongs, vowel pairs, and digraphs he's having trouble with. This book is a little pricey but I'd say it's working out nicely for us, Hachette said.

Recommend it to all 1st graders or those who help
Tutoring for English language learners, one-to-one tutoring, and help with homework. The girls had a big problem with the instructions when they were given tests in class. The book helped resolve the issue. I am very thankful, Beckham said. Recommend it to all 1st graders or those who help them.
