Supplemental Material
Derived From Web , Feb 20, 2021
The book has great supplementary material. I would not use this book as my primary teaching tool, not enough lessons or enough detail lessons. It is really not organized to the common core, so you need to look around for the topic you might be teaching. You should use before reviewing because topics can be all over the place. Articles are interesting and children do enjoy them. Very easy to use and all the answers in the back.

Wrong Information but verdict is still out
Derived From Web , Sep 21, 2020
This book looks great at first glance. I hope I find more mistakes, though. My confidence is shrinking because one of the first pages lists a butterfly in a cocoon. Butterflies make a chicalis, NOT a cocoon. I wonder what is wrong with other information!

Very basic public school stuff
Derived From Web , Sep 18, 2020
I got a few of these to help a new homeschooler due to covid. I wanted to get a rough idea of what is covered in the 5th grade and figured I could use it as a general guide. Fortunately, I was not looking for more than that out of it, as there is not much to be learned from these books. The little blurbs are so minimal and the questions are mind-numbing. Between the 2 books, I used only about 12 days, and that was more to offer the family something interesting to put in their records.

Way too easy for fifth grade
Derived From Web , Sep 6, 2020
In particular, there is an illustration of a dead plant and a live plant. The student is asked which plant has more sun. I read many pages in the book before deciding not to use it : it is just useless busy work.

Something your child can do on their own
Derived From Web , Jul 21, 2020
I use this for the science class at home. It is very easy to go through first week assignments in a class. Does it seem too easy to you? Or so, but then make her read the supplementary material from a variety of science books to deepen her knowledge and understanding. Time will tell you if this book is in line with the national test standards. But so far my child adores it and makes my life easier!

Homeschool Gold!
Derived From Web , May 16, 2020
For parents it gives detailed tools on how to use the book, answer sheets in the back to make grading easier and a grade card tool as well! For the kiddos, each page is labeled to make things easier, gives a few paragraphs on each subject, detailed instructions, and a variety of worksheet styles. There are tons of Youtube videos that you can pair with each section for an even more in depth look at the subjects. We have bought several subjects and would highly recommend them.
