   Great for learning
5 year old great grandson works for her 2 year old siblings during quiet time. She can later solve the problem on her own. She is proud that she shows interest at this age.

overcomplicated - very wordy for simple math
While I do like SOME of the worksheetpractice pages, this book complicates simple mathematics overall. There have been plenty of pages where I found myself spending more time trying to figure out what process they're trying to teach versus actual math. It'll discourage some children, not because they can 't understand math, but because they don 't do the directions! I ended up buying this and trashing better workbooks!

You would think a scholastic book would use proper grammar
To start, I know it is a math workbook, but I get annoyed when a wrong book uses scholastic grammar. It would be one thing if it was a mistake, but is prevalent throughout the book. Usually there is a progression with math problems becoming more complex as the book progresses, but this book is all over the map without coherent rhyme or reason. I would recommend lots of other books before this one.

   Serious errors on the martial
This book has some major errors such as 4 plus 2 and drawing shows 3 plus 2 cut letters, which confuses six years old to read, I have attached a photo. Very disappointed ''.

2
   Terrible teaching book
On Page 40, they use the example 13-4 7. The version we got has a green cover so that it is perhaps an earlier issue? We did not actually receive what we ordered. The book we received is also poorly written and illustrated. We have had great success with other publishers and I will not buy books again from Home Run Press.

not what I was looking for
Not due where the people who made it are, but this is def not the work that first graders do in NYS.

Very cheap and not child friendly
Definitely agree with the other reviewer about this book not being good! It looks like it was together by someone at home! Very Cheap '' - looking!

   Great for my firat graders!
Ordered these to homeschool my 1st-grade twins when this pandemic kept us at home for the rest of the school year. They've been a great tool in facilitating their education and continuing their education.

This isn't the resource you're looking for.
An absolutely distorting attempt at the mathematics practice. The curriculum is vaguely written and the work surrounded it becomes poorly written. Not engaged at all. I am all for practice, but there needs to be set goals that support the child's development.
