A great book for little ones with many stories and colorful illustrations
I have a 4 year old, so I bought this collection of stories for 4 year old's and it is perfect for her age! The stories included are the ones included. The Big Ship Sails, The Little Red Hen, Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Elves and the Shoemaker, The Big Ship Sails, Five Little Speckled Frogs, Sing a Song of Sixpence, The Little Red Hen, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Princess and the Pea, The Little Red Hen, Hansel and Gretel, The Big Ship Sails, The Big Ship Sails, The Big Shipstalk, Hansel and Gretel, The Big Ships Gruff, The Elves and Gretel, The Elves and the Shoemaker, The Big Ship Sails, The Big Ship Sails, The Big Ship Sails, The Big Ship Sails, The Big Ship Sails, The Big Shipstalk, The Big Shipstalk, The Big Shipstalk, The Little Red Hen, The Big Shipstalk, The Big Ship Sails, The Big Ships, The Big Ships, The Big Ships and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves and the Elves Each story is colorfully illustrated to keep little attention on the small. I love how all of these stories are included in a book because it means there are not many books around which are lost to be included. I recommend this story book to anyone who has little ones, not just 4 year old. It is a great book that has many stories in one book.

Not 'Just some guy', a father who believes what we teach matters.
I should change my name to Just Some Dad. Call Me What You Will, but these stories send the wrong message to a 4yo or any young impressionable child if you want to share the fun and excitement of breaking rules, stealing, submission, sneaking, lying and the like, this is the one for you. Go ahead and teach your daughter that happiness is finding a man and marrying him at 16. Some of the animation in this book literally disturbs my child. Once I read them, these classics '' are simply not the direction I want my child to go, once I am a fan. If we would all focus on delivering messages of love, helping, hard working, honest behavior, the future can be brighter. That is a description of a book I want to read my 4 yo. This garbage is not this garbage.

Bought this book for my granddaughter's 4th birthday, & ...
Bought this book for my 4th birthday granddaughter, and the fairy tale was so scary that I had to stop reading! My son and my daughter-in-law were appalled that I would never buy such a thing!

Wouldn't have bought it if I had been able to page through it
Average illustrations are white. Stories include The Ugly Duckling, The Little Red Hen, Cinderelle, Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Grtetel, The Princess and the Pea, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and The Shoemaker. I don 't think I'll read to my 4-year-old granddaughter Hansel and Gretel. That is one of the darkest Grimm fairy tales, and there are several disturbing themes that I just don 't care to introduce at the age of four. At age 8, maybe!

Some stories not suitable for 4yo
Pictures are clear and beautiful, nice colors, almost perfect visuals while reading the stories rhymes. My only comment is that some stories are too ugly to be read by 4yr olds, the 4yr ducklings. How do you explain ugly '' to a 4yo? I also feel like stories with a prince '' to save you from your miseries is not a good thing for them to learn... or just yet for some.

Not appropriate stories for a 4 year old
I understand that these are classic fairytales, but these stories are totally inappropriate for a 4 year old! A mother blames her young child for not having any money. A giant, who eats children. Burning an old witch in the oven and throwing her alive! What??? Immediately sent back.

   Cheesy..
I have the 2 year old and 3 year old book in the same collection. The illustrations look nice. But the story is changed and also many cheesy stories that you don 't feel like reading again.

   Do not recommend
My 3 year old likes it, but I do not recommend. Not the kind of stories I want to tell my daughter and not the way I want her to see her life, her worth or the world. Here is not a story with a strong woman character!

3
   Outdated stories
It has become a tradition to order these books in our family, but I did not like half the stories in this book for a girl.

2
   No diversity in illustrations
Classic stories with all white people. I would not buy again, I would find a book with more diverse representation.
