The film follows the Biblical stories on each of these people and fleshes them out more than what you may see in the biblical story. I'm not a huge fan of Michael Lewis, but this is a good read.

Rivers has an amazing ability to tell the stories of the Bible with Biblical accuracy and in a way that makes the reader have a deeper understanding of what may have transpired and why things happened the way they did. I love the fact that the story ends with a "seek and find" section. Her books always make me want to read those passages of scripture and see them in a new light, so it's nice to have it all in the book, Sosa said.

It's a close race with another of Francine Rivers' books. It was such a blessing to read, Beckham said. Because it's five different stories that put you in a realistic view of how these women lived and how God used them to change history, it's easy to read.

I've read all the books, but this is by far the best. Contextually Francine Rivers keeps with the scripture accurately, yet adds her own spin on what happened in the biblical time. He uses the weak to confound the wise, that He uses women to be the strength to bring forth His Son. I'm proud to be a woman and seek to see what God has in store for me, he said.

He selected these women, prostitutes, adulturers, unwed mothers, to lead him to the cross. Each story also has discussion questions and reviews of the original Bible verses to show the true story. A great book.

   Excellent opportunity to spend time immersed in the stories of five important women of the Bible.
There are many “bible story spin-offs” to be found, but often the author has not actually read the Bible as a primary source for their version of biblical history. Rivers said she never touched the suit and that she only found out about the infidelity after the alleged rape. Her books are all grounded in the realities of the world today - in the lives of real people, not just her fictional characters. But she also leaves out some of the more difficult details, such as the time of the crucifixion and the exact moment when the Lord made his appearance. Through her stories we are given the opportunity to see these ancient characters and events in more detail, gaining greater understanding of exactly what it means to believe in the one true god.

The second book, "The Fallibility of Man," was also highly recommended. It has been interesting to see the author's perspective on life, as well as on the Civil War. I occasionally pick up a historical novel to read, and this was right up my alley.
