A tale of three kings looks at the relationships of Saul, David and Absalom. It is a book that is principally about forgiveness and how it is more important than grudges or revenge. I read this book during a particularly difficult time in my life, where I felt I had been mistreated by someone close to me. This book takes a look at David's actions towards Saul and later towards his son Absalom. Both Saul and Absalom tried David killed because they felt he was a threat to their kingdoms. Edwards does a great job of disarming the reader while informing them about how God views forgiveness. An excellent book that should be read by anyone who has ever been wronged.

You will tell others about his books!
Everything I have read written by Gene Edwards has been excellent and truly speaks deeply into our spirits. I recommend that you read every one of his books. You will NOT be disappointed!

How to trust God with your authority
If you have ever been hurt by leadership, you may have hurt others or want to learn the principles of Godly leadership. This is the book for you : David, Saul and Absolom's life are really powerful examples of the life of Peter, Saul and Absolom. I love the way he describes David's trust in God when Absolom rebels and David says God gave me this kingdom and maybe he sees fit to take it away now. There is none of this scrambling for power and control that can be so common in churches. Really healthy and divinely view of leadership.

   Great Book!
After listening to a leadership conference with Pastor Jeremy Foster, I looked this book over a great read. Especially if you are involved in the ministry. I would recommend this to everyone!

   Classic! Revealing! Assuring!
It was there all along, the many times I have read through these accounts by Saul, David and Absalom. But I never saw David's reaction to Saul and Absalom in such a deep, heart revealing way. This has ramifications for so many areas of life.

   Leadership styles
Excellent. The whole story liked. King David, Saul and Absalom, their own style of leadership and how we can look at our own way of leading. Here there are positives and negatives and references to true Bible events. I highly recommend '' this book.

EVERY LEADER SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!
This book is truly incredible and will challenge you as a leader because the Lord calls all of us to submit, follow and honor. Like all the books I have read from Gene Edwards, this book changed my life.

Great truth for leaders and followers
The author's point is well developed and is an easy-fast read. The only disagreement I have with the author is probably on the wording of the Spirit's role in King Saul. There is no doubt from the Scripture that Saul was used by the Spirit, but I believe that the role of the Spirit in Saul is quite different than in David's. This book offers much to the reader still.

   Wonderful Read!
Book is great! Wonderfully read, but filled with short thought prevoking comments. If you have ever fought with anger or resentment from someone who has done it wrong, this is a great help!

   What a joke
This guy wrote a book that makes people feel like it is their fault that their bosskingpastor is a crooked and angry psychopath. That the reason why people have horrible leaders over them is because you have an issue that God wants to stop and you shouldn t do anything to stop those horrible people. As the headline says... what a joke.
