Book Overview
A concise, comprehensive overview of the M Theory and its application in today's world, by a renowned American philosopher
Ken Wilber has long been hailed as one of the most important thinkers of our time, but his work has seemed inaccessible to readers who lack a background in consciousness studies or evolutionary theory--until now. In A Theory of Everything, Wilber uses clear, non-technical language to present complex, cutting-edge theories that integrate the realms of body, mind, soul, and spirit. He then demonstrates how these theories and models can be applied to real world problems and incorporated into readers' everyday lives. Wilber begins his study by presenting models like spiral dynamics--a leading model of human evolution--and his groundbreaking all-level, all-quadrant model for integrating science and religion, showing how they are being applied to politics, medicine, business, education, and the environment. He also covers broader models, explaining how they can integrate the various worldviews that have been developed around the world throughout the ages. Finally, Wilber proposes that readers take up an integral transformative practice--such as meditation--to help them apply and develop this integral vision in their personal, daily lives. A fascinating and easy-to-follow exploration of the M Theory, this book is another tour-de-force from one of America's most inventive minds.Frequently Asked Questions About A Theory Of Everything: An Integral Vision For Business, Politics, Science, And Spirituality

A Theory Requiring Great Discipline
Derived From Web , Jun 1, 2022
I start this by saying that this is not a book for the faint of heart. I found myself nodding in agreement with any of the statements made by Wilber while making minor utterances. This book confirmed my belief that it is important to accept these different types of memes, but one must realize the importance of transcending their own meme. It goes without saying that Wilber manages to get the reader into a place where they must question not only where society stands and ultimately the world, but where they are themselves.

Spiritual intellect
Derived From Web , Jun 1, 2022
This is an amazing book written by a unique thinker. The title seems arrogant, but is actually quite descriptive of this philisophicalspritual vision. You have to be willing to flex some brain muscles to understand this, but if you have a good intellect and are looking for some unified vision of what everything is about without resorting to the God did it escape clause, this is well worth the effort.

Wilber's most accessible, simple book
Derived From Web , Jun 1, 2022
This book helped me overcome my resistance to reading Wilber. I found this one to be much easier to understand, and Wilber's work is incredibly important at that time. Pair this with Boomeritis... it goes much deeper into the current moment we are in historically and helps to provide a very helpful context for where we are as a species.

An admirable attempt to show how all areas can be ...
Derived From Web , Jun 1, 2022
An admirable attempt to show how all areas can be combined in a theory. The theory is just complicated enough with grids, colors and levels to claim that critics have misinterpreted the theory or the proper placement of some thought within the process. Here you can not expect any elegant E MC2.

Powerful Insights about Our Culture
Derived From Web , Jun 1, 2022
Wilber is one of the most important writers of the 21st century. While Wilber's origins in psychology and Buddhism have previously focused him more on contemporary consciousness, this book applies his acumen to human culture. Building on his book Boomeritis, he primarily targets the society created by the baby boomers-a-value relative, deconstructed, fact-based pluralism incapable of making the sound decisions necessary to sustain a society. He refers to them as encapsulating the green meme. Wilber begins to sketch the various component social-evolutionary trends, providing a big picture of how and why values in a post-boomer integral world must be brought into our social philosophy. The theory of everything is not focused on the details. But it does provide an orientation that will help the reader to think about how the details fit into the larger picture.
