Book Overview

In their quest for trading commodities profitably, beginning traders spend a substantial amount of time studying market theory, various types of market analysis, and paper-trading in the futures and options markets. Yet, almost all of them fail to take the necessary steps to ensure their trading environment is conducive for the profits they seek. A Trader's First Book on Commodities aims to fill the void in trading literature that overlooks the importance in making the right decisions before ever placing a commodity trade such as fully understanding market mechanics and logistics, choosing a proper trading platform, understanding order types, being aware of market data fees and policies, how to quote and calculate profit or loss in each of the commodity markets, preparing for margin calls, and the only magic in trading-humility.

A Trader's First Book on Commodities is guaranteed to shorten the learning curve for beginning traders while offering seasoned traders a new perspective on familiar topics. There is more to trading than computer-generated oscillators and trendlines; choosing the wrong trading platform, brokerage, or order type can do more harm to a trading account than choosing the wrong technical indicator.

Great book on options and futures trading
It had been sorted in the wrong mailbox, but that got put and the book is a great starter guide for futures and options trading.

   Great book for beginers!
Covers a lot of basic stuff and does not sugar coat the challenges or massive losses involved in trading futures. Recommend it highly as Premier.

easy to understand and gives good information
Book for people who don 't know much about the market's good side. Written in a way that is interesting even if you are more into the stocks than in commodity. I highly recommend this book for someone who wants to start trading goods or learn more about them.

A great entry level confidence builder for the novice
I've wanted to read futures for a very long time and have listened to many books that gave the basics. After reading this book, I really felt that I could do it without putting up a fortune to open an account.

Serious about Trading? Read this book!
I am still listening to this text to Speech Enabled kindle book. I like reading books that way to see if they will be worth my time to watch them the regular way. Though I have not yet finished this book, I have heard enough to know that if I am serious about becoming a trader, this book will be well worth my time to read it.

This is a great read for those who wish to transition from trading ...
The author takes careful aim and explaining the fine details often overlooked when trading to start out. The only thing in this publication that becomes a little annoying is the constant reminder of another publication that this author has out there. While there is room to redirect for such a publication for better insight and more strategies in trading commodities, it eventually becomes a tad excessive throughout this publication.

Great Primer for Learning Commodities!! A+
I am a stock option trader for about 10 years and was trying to find a good book on learning commodities markets for futures and options on futures. When I received this book, I was very pleased to see the book format with big pages, comprehensive charts and a comprehensive approach to all aspects of trading commodities. I have found the book I was looking for! Carley, thank you!
