   A Great Tool for Clergy
The book was written and formatted as a tool to be used throughout the Christian calendar year. Dr. Gafney's personality shines through in this portrait.
Can’t Wait for the electronic version
I'm a videographer for our church. The new liturgical year begins in September. I would love to have a copy and paste version of this. Rev. Wil Gafney, who was at the service, said the Rev. Chester Floyd was "a great man." He continued, "May the Lord continue to bless us." It's great to be back home, said Blair.
   Very disappointing
I had expected it to be for the daily offices, but it's limited to eucharistic lectionaries and only for Sundays, when the service was advertised. 0 3171158 31632070 The letter said it was for Sunday services, but it was unclear whether this was for the daily offices or only for Sundays.
An Important Resource for Sermon Preparation
Lectionaries are essential tools in planning the liturgical calendar for preaching and worship design. They help us move beyond our comfort zones and challenge us to explore biblical stories and passages we would not necessarily choose. Dr. Gafney has provided the church with a gift in crafting a lectionary full of often neglected narratives in an organized and expansive manner. I particularly am grateful that she offers strategies for using A Women's Lectionary for the Whole Church as a resource beyond Sunday morning worship.
   Thoughtful and eye opening
I am taking the sections one by one, and I will be back here next week. Beginning on Sunday and then rereading the section daily until I have time to ponder them and listen to what they are saying to me and to us. The readings offer an opportunity to consider the perspectives of each person in the story. Thanks to Dr. Gafney for this wonderful and inspirational book. The inspirational text and prompts are witty and well-placed. In Matthew 28:19, we are called to be family to each other, safe, nurturing, holding each other accountable, and calling to repentance and healing with the help of God. Please, if you are considering this book, I highly recommend it.
   A Resource to Savor
Dr. Gafney has given the church another wonderful resource, the Rev. Paul Vaske said. This one joins herist booklover's stash of treasures rather than to study and then put on a shelf. While it is helpful to flip through to the next Gospel for preaching ideas, it is not the primary reason I love this book. As I read through the various texts, I find new ways to consider not only that story, but also other texts as well. Who had to be there in the crowd and how did that Scripture good news for them? This type of questioning will lead me to preach richer sermons and also spark my own personal study and prayer, he said. Dr. Gafney has the ability to write books that both analyze texts critically and at the same time, sparks the poetic imagination. This resource will be among those that I keep close to hand and I look forward to having the whole set when it is finished, he said.
Will beome one of your favorite resources for sermon preparation
This book is a valuable resource both for those in traditions that use the Lectionary on a regular basis and for those from traditions where it is not used. This book is a great addition to any sermon preparation or bible study.
   Wonderful Resource
Dr. Gafney's lectionary is a wonderful resource for pastors who need help with that. I am using it to plan for the coming year, Mr. Rule told the judge. I'm most excited about plans for Advent, he said. Translation is always refreshing. I highly recommend this course to local churches and pastors who seek a fresh perspective on the world's problems.
