   A Must Read for Every Young Woman
It was the pivotal book of my early adolescence and I'm still a touchstone for me as an adult. No other book has had such a profound effect on my thinking, personality, spirituality and character. I should clarify that I didn't then and don't now share her Christian interpretation of the universe, which many people consider to be the essence of this book and much of her writing. For me, this book reminded me to say yes to life, to responsibility, to be brave even when scared, and to accept people as they are. I have learned a lot from this book, and the lessons I've seen me through some very difficult episodes. She gave me the strength to do what was right even when that action was dangerous, Mr. Ibazzi said. It's great to have found this book when I was 12. I still read it, I still enjoy it, even though I am 59. I'm convinced it was partly responsible for my still being here.

   Weird and Surprising
A WRINKLE IN TIME is a classic children's book. I never read it as a kid so when my eleven-year-old wanted to read, I agreed. It's the story of a young woman and her brother who go on a desperate quest to find their father, a missing physicist who had been missing for over a year. In "The Age of the Shallows," Harrison and Rosamund meet a young girl who works with the enigmatic physicist Robert Heinlein. I think this book is very strange, even for a Christian. Even children, perhaps by the time they are 5, will have a good idea of what the universe is made of. It's a book about scientific principles, not magic. It reminded me of the standard fare of "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" or "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." There are some books I have not read that I would say I fell in love with.

   Not a good representative of the genre
I've never been a big fan of science fiction, but I felt like I needed to give it another chance, he said. My 11 year old, who normally loves all things science fiction, has read it. It's just too preachy." And I also think Madeleine L'Engle cheats, there's really no good reason within the framework she's created that the three women couldn't have done the rescuing themselves instead of sending children in to do the dirty work, Mr Hughes said.    Stunningly Beautiful
I've read this book several years ago, and I just finished reading it again last night. The author weaves in allusions to mathematics, chemistry, biology, American history, classical quotations, and on and on. And, boy, is it beautiful to watch. Calvin has said he wants to live in the Murry household. I get it. He also brings an element of faith to the plot that is tastefully and graciously presented. Above these elements, though, the French writer and illustrator portrays God's universe and God's creatures as beautiful and wonderful. He subliminally shows us that science, art and religion are not exclusive paths to understanding this beauty. The book's theme, "Memory," is a fitting finale to the story.

I'd never read this book, and I still can't believe how it kept me captivated as an adult. I was not aware of the Christian aspect of the book at the time.

   A must read for any child!
I decided to read this book because I did not grow up in this country and I never read it as a child. The story is wonderful. I think every child would benefit from reading this book. There are elements of a great story fighting evil, the importance of our choices, close- nit family, and enduring power of true love in this. The description of the life on Camazotz is a perfect example of a life under a dictatorship. I am surprised that the modern politically correct educational system still tolerates this book because it's obvious that the story was written by a deeply religious person, and there are obvious references to the Bible in it.

I decided to read this book because I am a bookseller in the kids' department, and as I did not grow up in this country, I never read it. A wonderful story, Frank. Of course, I am looking at it thought the eyes of an adult, but still, I think every child would benefit from reading this book. It has all the elements of a great story fighting evil, the importance of our choices, close-nit family and the enduring power of true love, Taylor said. Also, I am very surprised that the modern politically correct educational system still tolerates this book in our schools because it's clear as day the story was written by a deeply religious person, and there are obvious references to the Bible in it.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I didn't feel a connection to the characters or what they learned from the enlightened beings. L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz was more interesting and entertaining.
