It was also quite long and somewhat boring. Great for information
There are a lot of stories about Abraham Lincoln that I had never heard.

A Fun way for Kids to Learn about Characters in History.
This is an interesting story of Abraham Lincoln and his years as an attorney. It speaks to his character of fairness and sometimes of his disorganization.

Great bio about one of our favorite Presidents!
We found this to be a very interesting read for my child, who thought that this book would provide the same information they had already taught in other books. Several interesting stories about his life are less known. His antislavery work is mentioned. Here is a preview for you.

NIce Mini BIo - avoids his death
The book does not mention details about the civil war and does not cover his death. This is because the book is for little ones only. Of these events, older children should naturally cover more detail.

Rather good for research as well
Im an avid lincoln reseaercher, so that even a child's picture book was interesting to me, along with the great illustrations. If you purchase a child for a child, it is best to sit with the child to help explain the times.

   New Salem Inspired
My husband and I visited New Salem Village in Illinois and purchased a Lincoln hat for our 8 - year old grandson. I found it on Amazon and was a big hit! The book was just the right level for him and of course he had to wear the hat while reading. I am looking forward to one of his Christmas gifts from them.
