A great book. As an IT professional, he has worked on many Unix and Linux systems. New ideas, new ways of doing things. If you have any questions, I recommend putting the "Part II" book in Appendix.

Only a handful of books combine science and usefulness. It's not a collection of anecdotes and opinions that you would expect from a book. It is real, valid science based on rigorous research, Raymond said. Like many introductory books, this is highly accessible and practical. This data sets us apart from the rest of the world, he said. Of all the businesstechnical books on my shelves, this is easily in the top handful of most valuable books I own. I have bought multiple copies and I frequently lend or give them to friends and neighbors.

It took me three days to get to grips with this book. This was a great introduction to the concepts because the fact that it is based on concrete measures keeps it laser focused on the whole point – becoming, being and remaining a high performing software delivery organization. It was inspiring because it never loses sight of the fact that an organization is formed of human beings and that DevOps is about culture—and that is why, and when, it works, Raymond said.
