Accelerate your organization to win in the marketplace. How can we apply technology to drive business value? For years, we've been told that the performance of software delivery teams doesn't matter―that it can't provide a competitive advantage to our companies. Through four years of groundbreaking research, Dr. Nicole Forsgren, Jez Humble, and Gene Kim set out to find a way to measure software delivery performance―and what drives it―using rigorous statistical methods. This book presents both the findings and the science behind that research, making the information accessible for readers to apply in their own organizations. Readers will discover how to measure the performance of their teams, and what capabilities they should invest in to drive higher performance. This book is ideal for management at every level.

Rigorous Science, Practical Insights
Derived From Web , May 24, 2019
Only a handful of books combine science and usefulness. It's not a collection of anecdotes and opinions that you would expect from a book. It is real, valid science based on rigorous research, Raymond said. Like many introductory books, this is highly accessible and practical. This data sets us apart from the rest of the world, he said. Of all the businesstechnical books on my shelves, this is easily in the top handful of most valuable books I own. I have bought multiple copies and I frequently lend or give them to friends and neighbors.

For me this was a fantastic introduction to DevOps
Derived From Web , May 11, 2018
It took me three days to get to grips with this book. This was a great introduction to the concepts because the fact that it is based on concrete measures keeps it laser focused on the whole point – becoming, being and remaining a high performing software delivery organization. It was inspiring because it never loses sight of the fact that an organization is formed of human beings and that DevOps is about culture—and that is why, and when, it works, Raymond said.

If there's anyone living under a rock and still doesn't believe in DevOps, this is worth a look. Perhaps the strongest case for organizational change you will find and considering who the authors are, is that's not too surprising. Service management is a must-read for anyone on the road to excellence. The visibility and transparency yielded by effective monitoring are invaluable, said John Worthington, director marketing, eG Innovations.

Do you wonder why improvements are not improving an overall capability?
Derived From Web , Mar 28, 2018
If you are a technical learner, this book is for you. Accelerate highlights the business value of maturing a DevOps capability by covering a new way to measure software delivery, Raymond said. However, he added, "There is a science to identify the right work at the right time to create a smarter SDLC." It's just that it isn't really DevOps, but rather, work in a Generative Culture of Harmony.
