It's a step up for those of us who have thought of ourselves as musically challenged. Use both of Bert's books and DVDs in combination and you will be amazed at how well even the worst of us can carry a tune.

I wanted to actually learn music, not just play guitar tabs. Note the subheading of this terrible parable in the "Greater Good" series, "Music Notes." If that's all you want, this is probably fine, Mr. Rule told the judge. If you want to actually learn how to play guitar and not just some specific songs, buy something else.

Starts out far too advanced. . .

When I bought this set, I chose it because it said 'beginner'. I have no experience, so I bought a guide that promised to walk me through 3 stages of advancement, starting with this is a guitar. Turner said he wanted to thank God that the Beatles were still alive. Within a couple of pages the author expects to hear more advanced finger placement than is possible with a brand new guitarist. But I ended up having to start over with numerous YouTube videos. What this set needs most is a prequel.

I have to say this is a great book for anyone wanting to learn how to play the guitar, it takes weeks to get used to playing the chords on a guitar with that left hand, but I guarantee using this book daily plus the dvd will make you really glad you took the time to learn, said Mr. Byrd.
