Great source for learning more about music
Derived From Web , Apr 22, 2022
I'm learning more about music theory that I never had, even being a weekend musician for a few years. A friend had recommended this person who has been checking my work and has answered some of my questions, Ms. Caramore said. It should have added that the accompanying CD set is required for the reviews at the end of each section. I bought them separately from Amazon after I received the book. knowing what I do now, I would have purchased the entire book set. Clear and concise explanations of the problems. Thanks to my friend, I was able to clarify where I missed some parts of the directions.

Great beginning-intermediate theory book! Just wish the cd's were included.
Derived From Web , Apr 22, 2022
I use it with both high school and college students. It's a compilation of all three Alfred's music theory books, so it's pretty thorough and covers a lot of material. There are short exercises on most pages for students to practice everything from writing a clef sign to analyzing chords. My only complaint is that a few of the exercises are designed to be used with CD players, which are not included with the book purchase. CD's are not absolutely necessary, Mr. Rule told the judge. Without the CDs, most music teachers would have no trouble teaching the material. I really like the book and would recommend it to anyone teaching a basic to intermediate level course.

I bought it for my girlfriend who is a singer. Ms. Kennedy, who has a soft spot for fiction, has a very good book.

Good for basic music theory review
Derived From Web , Jan 11, 2020
This book is intended to help me review basic music theory as part of flute lessons. In some ways it's pretty basic as I've got a lot of musical background, but it's helpful for review in starting to learn a new instrument.

Great book
Derived From Web , Dec 24, 2019
This book is very thorough, Robert Hemenway said. The customer service was excellent, and the product was highly recommended. It works well for her as she has had some music teaching prior, said her father. It's a little hard for a beginner.

Okay Product

Even with a review, you don't know whether your answers are correct or not. Overall, good for beginners, but not very advanced, Hollingworth said.

Fun and Easy
Derived From Web , Sep 10, 2017
This book is very thorough and is perfect for a beginner, music theory aside. The second book deals with tetrachords, scales, intervals and the third with triads, scales, and much more. If you are serious about learning music theory, this book is for you.
