Lightweight book
Derived From Web , Feb 2, 2019
This is a very light book. If you have done at all any glazing, you will learn very little. Much of the book is taken with pictures of pots whose glazes are not described. There are a few glaze recipes for high-end fire, but no discussion of why they work or the theory behind them.

So many different techniques!!
Derived From Web , Jan 25, 2019
I have been throwing pots for about five years and glazing has always been a mystery to me... This book covers so many different techniques in a very understandable step by step process and has uncovered the mystery of layering and getting depth out of my glazes, among many other mysteries! I found this book very helpful and very beautiful ''. I gave this book to my father, a potter of 50 years old, and he loves it! If you are interested in pottery and the process of glazing or know someone who is a potter, this book is a must!

This book is AMAZING!
Derived From Web , Jan 3, 2019
I am pretty much a newbie in the pottery world. This book has become my new Bible for the glazing of pottery. It is also extremely well put together and filled with great information. The gallery photos of ceramic pottery and sculpture are vibrant and high-quality. Even the example photos showing the various techniques and processes are beautiful. I highly recommend this book to both newbie beginners and old hands at art.

Wonderful book focusing on all aspects of glazing
Derived From Web , Dec 28, 2018
This book teaches and encourages. I hate glazing, it's where all the hard work can end up just not there, but this book offers lessons on nearly every aspect of glazing - from reading the recipe to adjusting the thickness and application. After reading this, I am not so sure that I'm eager to glaze, but at least I'll be better prepared.

Surpasses expectations! Written for EVERYONE!
Derived From Web , Dec 24, 2018
This book is a beautiful breath of fresh air from other ceramic books. Besides visually STUNNING, the text is written in a unique and rigorous way, while breaking terms and ideas for the layman in a far less formal way that makes the reader feel like a peer, an equal, instead of an insubordinate who is lucky to witness someone's knowledge just once. Gabriel Kline is more than a potter-dude writer, and I can not think of a book that I would recommend more. Honestly, I think this would make a fantastic textbook at college level for an intro to the Glaze chemistry class.
