My daughter did not enjoy them as much as I thought she would
I expected these books to follow the same story-lines as Amelia Bedelia did. I think they are appropriate for 2nd and 3rd graders because they were not nearly as silly. My daughter didn't enjoy them as much as I thought she would, and neither did I. Amelia Bedelia is the original.

A Fun Read For an 8 year old girl
My granddaughter is struggling to keep up with her class on reading and I ordered these books for her. The books have helped her to enjoy reading. She reads herself to sleep almost every night.

My six year old granddaughter cannot stop reading this. ...
My six year old granddaughter is reading. She reads it loud if we don't want to hear it. Amelia is still relevant today.

   Amelia Bedelia for another generation!
I'm hoping my 6 year old granddaughter loves chapter books because I remember how much she loved Amelia Bedelia. I bought this set for Christmas. I would recommend them to anyone who likes to be read to. I'm very pleased with the way these arrived.

Great books, well made, poorly constructed box.
Who doesn't like Amelia Bedelia's antics? The books are a good deal for the price, but don't expect the box to stay intact. The corners of the box are already breaking after my daughter opened it for Christmas a few hours ago. I would purchase it again knowing the box wouldn't hold up, because the price you pay is a great deal for the books alone. We were surprised to find a sheet of stickers inside, it was great for my 7-year-old!

   oh, Amelia!
My childhood favorites were passed on to my daughter. She loves Amelia. I want to pass them down to my grand babies because I love that they come in a sleeve to help protect them.

   Pages not in color!
My daughter was more disappointed than I was when I found the pages were not in color. I told her she could color the pages herself. If I knew the pages were not as colorful as the books, I wouldn't have bought them. My daughter was disappointed when she opened the one she received to read it. Unless you know your child won't mind these boring books, you won't be disappointed. There aren't many pictures either. Doesn't feel like they should be for young children.

   Nope
I thought they were a new printing of the originals, but I didn't know that the original author's nephew had taken over. They are awful. You can tell from the pink and purple glittery stars and hearts. The books were good for all children. So, yeah, disappointed.

My seven year old girl likes to read. I need to explain a lot of the jokes to her.

   Not for my daughter
Amelia is jealous of another girl's bike and is embarrassed of her own. The lesson here is that if you want to keep up with the Joneses, you have to work for it. Amelia is in a princess and fairies story. Disney already burned that into every adolescent girl. Annie from The Magic Treehouse is a superior female archetype. She's brave, compassionate, and compassionate.
