   Good book for your emerging reader as far as simple ...
Good book for your emerging reader as far as to sound out words or figure out how to make sense of the world around them. The jokes are based on the play on words Draw the curtains and she draws a picture of the curtains. We never say we draw the curtains in our house, or many of the other dated phrases. The husband on the first page is also smoking a pipe in the car, which I found to be dated as well.

   Great read for the children!!!
I've never heard of Amelia Bedelia, but she's a great writer. I bought a ton of books for my son and this was one of them, and we both enjoyed it very much! Just watching him read it made me cry, Sandra. This book was pretty hilarious and silly and made reading enjoyable and fun for the kids, too. He actually read it twice because he loved it so much, he said. I purchased the whole set of Amelia Bedelia when she was younger and going to purchase as many as I can find when she's all grown up.

   Missing Pages!
I was so excited to share this book with my son as it was one of his favorites growing up. The writer of the story laments that the first six pages are missing. It appears as though this has happened to others who purchased this book as well, but I was hoping with all of the positive reviews that they would have gotten the issue resolved. Amazon also sent me another copy of the book, which is missing the first six pages of the story. It's just that we can't win.

It's no wonder Amelia Bedelia was so excited when asked to dress the chicken. Great for teaching idioms to young children and adults learning English as a foreign language. The humor is always gentle and Amelia is always doing her best, Beckham said. This book is highly recommended, both to children and emerging readers.
