Appropriate if You are Ready to Discuss Oral and Anal Sex

It may not be fair to give it 4 stars. It is an excellent book that covers the theme thoroughly, but I think it is better for a 13-14 year old. Other reviewers have pointed out that the chapter is advanced for a younger audience on sex. I am prepared to discuss sex in general, but feel it is too early to discuss anal and oral sex. We thought about tearing those pages and sharing the book, but then decided to return and look for another book.

Their parents have been reluctant to give their girls any in depth knowledge. I have therefore taken over as their grandmother. For many years I was a sex education teacher while teaching 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. They came with misinformation and a thirst for truth about their bodies. This book was a wonderful start to answer the questions they have been asking, but remained unanswered. I also encouraged my 13 year old grandson to read his sisters'books and that they would read his too.

My 12 year old was the part of the conversation about relationships because she has her first little school boyfriend. My 4th year liked the illustrations because they go along with the 9 yr old program. They responded to questions and we ask. It is a very good book. I read it myself ''. If it makes you uncomfortable, it has deeper issues.

Then I bought it for my 12 year old daughter. She read it non-stop. She also learned a lot of this book in SHARE at the school, but it is good to have this book so that we can all talk more about it. I bought it so I am glad to have it.
