Book Overview

It was awful. All those eyes, all looking at him. It was straight out of Luke's worst nightmares. Panic rooted him to the spot, but every muscle in his body was screaming for him to run, to hide anywhere he could. For twelve years his entire life he'd had to hide. To be seen was death. Don't he wanted to scream. Don't look at me Don't report me Please But the muscles that controlled his mouth were as frozen as the rest of him. The tiny part of his mind that wasn't flooded with panic knew that that was good -- now that he had a fake I.D., the last thing he should do was act like a boy who's had to hide. But to act normal, he needed to move, to obey the man at the front and sit down. And he couldn't make his body do that, either. -- from Among the Impostors

Luke Garner is terrified.
Out of hiding for the first time in his life, he knows that any minute one of his new classmates at Hendricks School for Boys could discover his secret: that he's a third child passing as the recently deceased Lee Grant. And in a society where it's illegal for families to have more than two children, being a third child means certain death at the hands of the dreaded Population Police.
His first experience outside the safety of his home is bewildering. There's not a single window anywhere in the school; Luke can't tell his classmates apart (even as they subject him to Read More chevron_right

   Great book
This is one of the best I have ever read. But before you purchase this book, I highly recommend you pick up the first book in the series Among the Hidden. Couldn 't wait to come back and read what happens next. But the killers are crazy at the end of the chapter, and the suspense is good. Hope you enjoy your copy of the book!
   Good Book
For some reason, I started reading it at the fair and was hooked! I read the full series now and now I go through my son's chapter books and raid his literature. This book helps you see everything through the eyes of a child, but has a tremendous sociopolitical analysis. And it is just fun to read. Good science fiction is good.
Great book 2 thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great series, everyone should get a chance to read because I know that I loved it and probably will.
The shadow children's books have impressed me again by its awesomeness. This is a book that needs to be red.
   awesome read!!!
This book is great for both the upper and the early middle school. It is full on suspense that leaves the reader eager to see what happens next. My Dear Luke is coming into his own series... Love this series!!! Thank the Lord!
I usually don 't like sequels as much as the original, but was pleasantly surprised by this book. Easy and fun to read, excited for the next.
   Among The Imposters Review
This book was first published, the building of the amazing book. Jen has evolved so much and he reminds me of Luke.
A middle read for nice fast schoolers.
   Good so far
I am going back and reading these books from my childhood and enjoying them. I read the first book Among the Hidden and loved it, but my AR reading level jumped so high in school that I was unable to finish the series. This was mainly due to the Harry Potter books. In a few months, I went from a 6th grade reading level to a 3rd grade. By high school, I was reading at a college reading level. Back to this book anyway. I can 't wait to see how the series ends. If the 3rd children are actually freed or not. It would be very bad if they are shot as heroes, as Jen did in the first book. It's all fantasy from a corrupt government that has begun to kill all children born after their parents had imposed a two-child limit by the government. It is still a fun book. A thriller book is kind of a book by Stephen King.
   Love this book!!
This is the second book in the Shadow Children series and was by far one of my favorite books. I don 't think I actually fell in love with the first two books when I was a child, so I had to read the series again for a second time.
