A change of pace
Derived From Web , Mar 12, 2022
It was nice to read the Anne Boleyn and her charity work as well as George's work. Definitely a different side to the previously seen Boleyn history. Very much enjoyed and can 't wait to find out more from this author.

Tone Deaf

If you are looking for a history book, this is not. If you are looking for comparative analysis, this is not. I don 't begrudge the author for trying to make a living, but I was so sorry to have purchased this book.

A sobering account of a history that’s not often told
Derived From Web , Dec 24, 2021
The author sets many untruths of Anne's life and death, both passionately and factually, to rest.

She seems so angry
Derived From Web , Dec 10, 2021
I thought it was just me suffering through it. She seems to be spiteful, angry, all knowing. Like she yelling at you. Audible got the Kindle. It seems to be very repetitive. I feel like I read the same thing on the next chapter. I am sorry, but a pass for me.

Great book
Derived From Web , Feb 14, 2021
Wonderful. '' As a young adult reader who enjoys history and has been interested in the Tudor reign for many years, this book offered a welcome historical perspective on Anne Boleyn. The sources are there, and I enjoy writing style personally. The author intersperses modern day slang '' and humor into the book, which I personally like because it breaks from the sometimes boring facts of history. As the author says, the facts of Boleyn's life sell less than sex, so humor is welcomed. I think the negative reviews themselves seem to be coming from a smug place, and they must have been looking for a boring historical novel in which the author has absolutely no personality. For me it was a great read.

Could not get past the author's agenda
Derived From Web , Oct 15, 2020
I could not get past the author using this part of history to promote her feminist view. I have no issue with the author's feminism, but was again looking for a straight forward history, but this book was not.

An exclamation point does not mean you’ve made a point.
Derived From Web , Dec 29, 2019
I cringed through the author's introduction and closed the book quickly when I read the line... So, no sign of her hooking with the mailman, then '' Hayley Nolan's tone is insufferable.

Definitely Worth Reading
Derived From Web , Dec 17, 2019
I was impressed with the arguments and the evidence that the author provided. The research was comprehensive, the book read easily and her intentions about the book were made clearly. She provided information that the general public would not have otherwise known and gave Anne Boleyn her voice and justice after nearly 500 years.
