Graphics are thought provoking vignettes and terrific, short information. It is a great book to also use for interdisciplinary projects for World History and Science. Highly recommended :

I don't like how this book talks about evolution as part of nutrition.
Derived From Web , Feb 7, 2022
I don 't like how this book talks about evolution as part of nutrition. I would like a book that points just to the facts and not to any theories. We are a Christian family that homeschools a Christian book and rely heavily on books for teaching. I do like that the book is detailed, but it could have left evolution out. I will update the review once I get through the entire book, if needed.

Great book on nutrition
Derived From Web , Nov 10, 2020
My six-year-old is very curious about the building blocks of everything, including the food. Are you eating what you are? The bill fits the bill. I do not expect children to read and sit this book from front to back. Like other DK books, information is separated into several sections, with small sections separated per page. This allows kids to absorb at their own pace and jump into the things they are interested in at the moment. I looked at a number of nutrition books for children before settling down on this one. I read a lot of customer reviews and looked at the interior pictures. I'm glad that I chose this ''. The book is well researched and is based on science. I recommend it highly for children 6 and up.

Evolution Perspective
Derived From Web , Mar 14, 2020
I was disappointed to find evolution in this book as a prominent theme. The ape to man silhouette, reference to BC instead of BCE to name a few things that jumped out of the way right away. I was looking for a book by a child on nutrition, not an indoctrination of evolution. I will search for a different book.

Best educational kids book I've purchased in a while
Derived From Web , Feb 28, 2019
This book is exactly what I was looking for to teach my first-year student about nutrition! My kid is very bright and wants to know the facts and reasoning behind what he is learning. It is difficult to find a history and science-based book that is written simple enough for a young child to understand. Are you what you eat goes beyond the normal fluff of nutrition education to explain all a child should know in detail. I recommend this book to any parent wishing to teach science!
