This Printz Honor Book is a tender, honest exploration of identity (Publishers Weekly) that distills lyrical truths about family and friendship.
Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship--the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

   Touched and changed forever!
I started this book because I was a kid from a camp I worked in and was touched by it. He was so angry that it made him so touched and he threw it away. After reading it, I feel better understood, like I understand him. This book kept on coming up on so many lists that I looked at for books to read. When I found out that this book touched the kid so much, I knew that it was something I had to read. I loved this book, it is a book that is a must read. I finished it on a Friday and started it on Saturday. My brother and I were reading it together. I feel like this book will bring us closer together as well '', I believe that this book will bring us closer together. The relationship between Aristotle and Dante is a relationship to which everyone, no matter what, can relate.

I'd go as far as saying it's the best book I've ever read
Where do I even begin with this book? I'd go as far as saying that it is the best book I ever read. I have never read a book of this length in less than 24 hours with this much energy and vigor and enthusiasm and passion. This book made me cry and laugh and cry. I found myself unable to put the book down and staying up in the wee hours of the morning reading. Ari and Dante made my heart ache for Ari and Dante. I have so many feelings about this book that I can't organize and articulate them. The book is only read by the book. It is powerful and you certainly won 't regret it.

A Memorable tale of the search for Identity--social, ethnic and sexual
Benjamin Alire Saenz and Dante's Secrets of the Universe by Aristotle and Dante is a sensitively written coming-of-age story that is not only well-written and engaging, but also evokes compassion for youth who struggle with gender identity issues. The story unfolds in a tapestry that resonates with real emotion without sensationalizing or being overly graphic. The two main characters straddle several worlds -LatinoAmerican, public school, friendsor something more? This book merits all the awards it has earned. Definitely not a routine book . A memorable one is certainly a good one.

1 - I loved living in the language of this book
There are two parallel reviews I have for this book : I loved living in the language of this book. The way in which Saenz constructed this world was engaging and beautiful and made me even more attached to characters than I was from their vivid characterization. 2 - Actual diversity in character and culture in a YA novel! This was so wonderful to read economically, ethnically, sexuality, and this narrative had a variety that seemed natural and normal in its world. Here is such an important aspect to include in all literature, and Saenz has made it wonderfully approachable to younger minds.

   Beautiful
The real characters are flawed and funny and I LOVED so many of them! I have cried a number of times, happy tears, sad tears and even wistfully. Good to be so.

   Ari & Dante
I seriously do not understand what all the hype is about this book! I’ve read more LGBTQA+ books than I can count and this one definitely rates at the bottom of my list. Not only are the characters mundane but the plot was just plain boring! I’m glad I got this book used so I didn’t waste a lot of money. Although I still wasted hours of my time reading it.

My heart is so full, an amazing beautiful read.
Finally, a happy ending for a mlm relationship. A great insight into the darker, complex worldview of a teenage mind that has gone through many difficulties and provides a healthy solution that helps understand how to navigate the angst. I loved the optimist-pessimist duality that Ari and Dante show ; it shows a piece of how the world shapes the teenage mind in a realistic way that I could relate to when I was their age. I also appreciated the positivity and acceptance of LGBT+ in a refreshing light in lieu of the world completely hating them for it. A simple read, it was so beautiful and relatable that I completed it only after 7 hours!
