Book Overview

The only drawing book children need to become the artists they want to be

This is a gold mine of information.--Library Media Connection

When children draw, they want to create an accurate likeness of the things they see. With this imaginative, informative, and amply illustrated guide, it's amazingly easy for kids to make their art dreams come true. The entertaining, hands-on lessons begin with contour drawing techniques and feature numerous exercises that show budding artists how to make basic shapes and forms, create the illusion of volume with light, use perspective, and accurately draw people, animals, landscapes, and more.

Great book at a great price!
The boys absolutely love it, said Blair. They have produced amazing work by following the steps provided in this book,' said Dr. Goin. They are always fighting over who will get to use it, so I will probably be ordering several more copies.

   Beginning art book
This book was recommended to me by a kid who wanted to draw. Basic lessons and a wonderful presentation for all to understand, Mr. Dhaliwal said. From an artist's point of view, this is a great addition for anyone who is beginning or expanding their knowledge of the medium.

Just The Encouragement Young Artists Need
What we like about the art instruction is that it is quite good but what we most like is that it is centered around the ability to draw, McBride said. It's just that art to make that satisfies them without having to be "perfect" or "compare" oneself to others. What's more, this is what art is supposed to be -- a liberating experience. It's best to start small, Blair said. I would think this book would be great for adding to your homeschool curriculum.

   Look No Further!
This is the second time I have purchased this book. It's just that they gave it as a present." This is perfect for the 10 year old and 62 year old recipients! Both loved it and I plan to buy more in the future.

   Don't Waste Your Money
It was a Christmas present from my daughter. I took a chance that this book would be better than the others sold on Amazon. It was a great feeling to see my daughter's drawing skills improve. The book sat on the kitchen table for three days, partly because Mrs Clinton kept it open. Thanks for returning this product, Ragin said.

Great starting art book! Well organized, covers a lot of topics.
This is truly amazing value, said one customer. Most people who get into an art book are not that interested. Even though the book is fairly new, it covers many of the key concepts of the sniper. I am surprised by how much they cover— perspective, portraits, and proportions are all here. If you're looking to get more into a specific subject, you won't find it here. If you want to cover all your bases, this is a great place to start. It's well organized and written, and I recommend it to anyone. Recommend.

   Uses photos, makes assumptions
Too many photos? The product did not meet the testing requirements. DB Cooper, 34, died Sunday at his home in Darien, Long Island. The cat's head was shown with a black background and curvy lines added without any explanation. No one has come forward with an explanation.

Perfect but need to change the title
This book is great for adults, but not for kids. It's great to have a book that's so informative, said Lois. They would have an interest in buying it immediately, he said.

   Not really for kids
However, this is not recommended for children that young. My daughter, who is a competent reader and has taken a number of art classes, couldn't follow it. Frankly, I didn't get much instruction on how to use it. The book is probably OK for a high school student with existing art skills, but the title is misleading. Even if the NIH did approve the use of LeapPads, it's not a good fit for kids.

Our kids love art and drawing and they were really excited to ...
It's actually great to be practicing with them, said Jennette Tamayo, a spokeswoman for the academy. There are also some illustrations of animals, such as apples, cats, dogs, and people. She talks about light sources, shading, perspective, and more. It's pretty challenging for my 7 and 10 year old but it's a great resource for them and it's a good challenge!
