this is an awesome book for girls aged 8 to 10
There is a mythology theme to it and is slightly resembling the Percy Jackson series. i would completely reccomend this.

   Great!
I have received constructive criticism only. The one thing it needed was to tell more people about the weekend with Pallas!

Athena is accepted into MOA and the adventure of her life begins!
In this book, Athena is invited to MOA, the School of the Gods and the Goddesses! She finally meets her father, who happens to be Zeus, King of the Gods and Principal of MOA and her mother Metis, who is a fly in Zeus'apos ; head. All girls should read it, all of them should read it.

Cute spin to what we know.
Athena is asked by Zeus to attend the Mount Olympus Academy, which she finds out is her father! It dawns on her that it could be possible that she is a goddess; so the day arrives when she leaves her best friend and the flight to Mount Olympus is a bumpy one. There is so much more to learn and everybody is so different. She quickly makes friends with Ephrodite and her group of friends and quickly becomes enemies with Medusa and her group of sisters. There's Poseidon, the cutest guy at school... who walks around with a Trident and you could hear him from down the hall because of his squishy walking sound. If you are a fan of Greek mythology, like I am, this is worth reading. It is a whimsical story about all the gods and goddesses and what it might be like if you stuck them in a school. I can already tell that the series of the Goddess Girl will be an enjoyable one!

   Amazing stories of mythology retold
I bought this book for my 8-year-old granddaughter, who is fascinated by greek mythology. We took turns reading the chapters and the story is endearingly retold. I absolutely love it, and since then I have purchased all three sets.

   Perfect prequel to Lightning Thief
There is a charming new series of books on the Greek goddesses as young girls entitled Goddess Girls. The adorable is Athena the brain and is first. Athena is living in the Earth and is summoned by mortals until she is raised by her father Zeus to Mount Olympus. It is time for her to attend the Academy and so she bids farewell to her best friend and heads to Olympus. She meets Persephone, Aphrodite and Artemis there as well as Zeus, Poseidon, Pandora and more. This book is filled with mythology and creative Earthy inventions and is perfect as a prequel to the Lightning Thief series and for younger children. Adding this book to this is checked out constantly, February 2011. Girls, mostly 2-5 in the upper elementary school, love it and every day a request for it. In April, looking forward to ATHENA's release of WISE.

My seven year old really enjoyed it.
I read this with my seven-year-old daughter and loved it. Some of the words were a bit difficult for her, but she was able to get through it with my help. She also enjoyed how it all related to real greek history and mythology. We ended up looking up several characters mentioned in the book so that she could learn more about them. This was a great book and had a fun storyline about friendship. We will continue this series definately.

Cute story. My child was really interested in this ...
The story of Cute was cut. She is in the 4th grade and is able to read it on her own. There are a few words that she has to look up, but that is mainly due to the Greek mythology background of the books, not a reading level issue. A pleasant read, certainly.
