   A slow start, but the beginning of a great series!
This is the first issue of a good series. As the story goes, the drawings get better, as well as the dialogue. Many of the moments in the second issue seem to come straight from the show. I recommend these comics if you love the series. There are 3 issues per storyline in the comic series. The first storyline was kind of like the author just getting their feet wet in the universe of Avatar. The second story, The Search, is where it starts to get better. I still recommend the Promise to get you to Toph's school. It's perfect. If you skip ahead, there are other story elements that you might be sorry for. I know that it's noted elsewhere, but the creators of the show work closely with the creation of this series as well.

   Could have been better
This entry partially fills the demand for further adventures. The book is very long. It wouldn't be possible to fill an entire episode if it was animated. It will be a very quick read because of the age of the book. Aang and Zuko are the focus of the story. The team is given nothing to do. The treatment of Aang's and Kitara's feelings for each other feels false and should have been left out. I grimaced every time they called each other sweetie, I'm doing it again. The only novelty about this book is that it is a new story, and I guess that's better than nothing. Most fans will be left wishing for more.

   Just a bit boring, and so short!
The story picks up during the last episode of the animated version, and I think it's a nice transition. The storyline after that is dull. It just seemed off to me, that everything that happens makes sense. I think the whole sweetie thing will be cleared up in the rest of this trilogy. It was so short that it was the worst part. It took me about ten minutes to read this, which is a huge let down. I'm a penny pincher but will it be worth it to get the other books? I'm coming from the show, so those of you who have been following the comics might say otherwise. This is the first comic I have ever written.

   For the love of Avatar.
Let's get this behind us. I really like the shoe. I' ve watched it for years. I finally bought the first comic. I think this show is good for the comic medium. The characters from the show are depicted in vibrant artwork. The dialogue was left wanting, but I thought it was enjoyable. There are some Toph and Sokka moments that are correct. Some panels of the artwork weren't consistent and I had a gripe about that.

   I want to support the franchise
It was pretty bad by the end. The plot line makes some parts of the show feel a little weaker and Katara is written just as Aangs girlfriend with no personality and conviction she is supposed to have. It's silly. I want to buy so I can support the franchise and see more stories about the characters, but this one was pretty dull. I was enjoying my time here. I liked the story of Ursas at first.

   Why am I just discovering these???
I am a huge fan of the show. I watch the three seasons many times. These little gems were found in an online search for something related to ATlab. Wow... I felt like I was back in the universe of theavatar. The first one was a bit rough around the edges. My interests were kept stimulated by the nostalgia attached. The rest of the series will be enjoyable. This addition is amazing. I shared this with my son who also enjoyed the series. I shared it with him when he was a kid. The evening they arrived, he and I finished three books. Those who liked the original series will not be disappointed.
