Deceptive Title
Derived From Web , Aug 24, 2021
The book was very disappointing. Almost all experiments involved large quantities of sugar-based ingredients. The experiment itself was the smallest part of each project, and the directions were vague. Pictures and more detailed instructions would have helped, too. I am sure that this book will not remain on the shelf of my six-year-old grandson. Very disappointing ''.

Buy it!

SO cute and SO fun! My five year old boy is so excited to do them. I am also doing it with my 3 yr old twins. There are beginner and advanced ones and I feel like it can be from 3-8 years old because you can choose how involved they are. If they are older, they could probably do it themselves without so much supervising and walking through it. My kid has already started the books he wants to bookmark. We are going to do one every Thursday. I even sent one to my SIL. Totally buy it if you have a science minded kid!

Experiments aren't fun. Food isn't yummy.
Derived From Web , Dec 29, 2020
This book was a good idea but missed the mark for us on enjoyment. The results of the experiments are some of the results of the experiments : Blanched peas, fried noodles and dried onions. For the onion experiment, it has you test ways that onions make you cry. One of the ideas to avoid tears while slicing the onion is to hold something like a matchstick or a piece of bread in your mouth while cutting the onion. Whaaaat Whaaaat? My kid should put a matchstick in their mouth while cutting onions to see if it makes them cry? Not fun at all. There are also very few photos in this book, so if you're looking for an experiment, you must read a paragraph to even see what it is about.

Not simple enough for what I needed
Derived From Web , Dec 17, 2020
I was looking for fun simple experiments that my children could do with few ingredients, so I ordered this book. I flipped through it and realized that the experiments were very messy and the ingredient list was long, so I returned it. The return was one of those where you can not get a label, but have to ship it to a UPS store, which is a pain for me, because I live an hour away from the UPS store, but if I had a label, I could drop it in the UPS dropbox. If you are home schooling and have a lot of time to teach your kids elaborate science experiments, you might really enjoy this book. It was just not for me.

perfect for an inquisitive child

I looked through many children's science books that might be perfect for a 6 year old '', through many children's books. I landed on this and is absolutely wonderful. '' I know she has already made two of the recipes and truly enjoys being in the kitchen with her mother's supervision. I have already recommended this book to others.

I'm crying. My kid is crying. NOT impressed
Derived From Web , Aug 22, 2020
Did our first experiment today and followed the instructions to the letter... and fell apart absolutely, wasting at least $12 of the ingredients and my son is sobbing. Quarantine is hard enough as it is, folks. I'm ready to unleash the full power of my pent up Covid aggression and rage all over this book. I'm so hesitant to try anything else ''. I'm so hesitant to try anything else. FUMING. FUMING.

I’ve been sending educational but fun items...

I have sent this letter to one of my grandsons. He loves it absolutely! His mom and his dad are thrilled about all the experiments he is able to do without direct assistance. They then check what he wants to do the following day and go over the experiment the night before. I've been sending educational, fun, things to my children since staying at home has certainly influenced the children!
