Book Overview

Big, brainy science for the littlest listeners

Accurate enough to satisfy an expert, yet simple enough for baby, this book explores the basics of flight - from birds, to planes and rockets - and ties it all to baby's world. Beautiful, visually stimulating illustrations complement age-appropriate language to encourage baby's sense of wonder. Parents and caregivers may learn a thing or two, as well

With tongue firmly in cheek, the Baby Loves Science series introduces highly intellectual science concepts to the littlest learners.

   Great pictures. Lovely book
Not sure how well the bird plays into the story, but I love the pictures and this series in general. In general, this series does not use explicitly female or male characters. It is hard to tell if the character is a boy or a girl, since gender isn 't central to the story. He had read many times the same words from the same book before. He stopped at the Pronoun and repeated it twice her ''. “How come I never noticed it before?”. The character is female : I asked him if it mattered. He said, No, it surprised me just. '' I smiled. Hopefully my son will not be surprised someday by reading more books like this with his father, after all, male and female roles are interchangeable.
Great book for opening up little minds!!
This book is absolutely amazing! I love that the borders that have been expanded for children '' books in the past have since been held.
Disconnect Between Subject Matter and Illustrations
Here there must be some disconnect. I read the book to my three-year-old, who knew nothing about aerodynamics and other physics concepts illustrated in the book. The author should have targeted ages 7 and up for this information and not tried to wedge the subject matter into the age appropriate for the very cute illustrations.
Yes I am a Rocket Scientist, this book is wrong.
I bought this book for a friend of mine who is pregnant with her first baby. We are both Aerospace engineers and yes, she is a rocker scientist. This book is written poorly. Not only is the English and grammar bad ; the information isn 't accurate. I do not recommend '' this book.
Gets kids interested in science :)
I bought this book for my 2 year old niece ''. This book explains the concept of flight, the propulsion and the differences between birds, planes and jets. It is a fun little book, clearly intended to attract kids interested in science more than to actually explain complicated concepts to babies. I am also a sucker for diverse books with children's characters. The child in the book has brown skin with brown curly hairs. The book has 20 pages, and uninterrupted reading takes less than two minutes to read aloud.
   Great book!
My 1-year-old and 3-year-old children love this book. The concepts are kept simple, so that they can really absorb the mechanical lesson and the characters are engaging and keep them interested. The book begins with a blue bird and describes how it flies. The bird is then a constant character through the end, flying and rocket as well as the book simply explains how these objects fly. My kids love this bird just because it flies off in the rocket ship.
Great for babies. Just as Good for Adults.
Bought this as part of a gift for the first birthday of a baby. I learn from the whole thing and read something myself. That is saying a lot! Definitely recommend this book series ; it is great for kids to explore their likes even at such a small age. The book itself is a hardcover, written BEAUTIFULLY and I love the simple way it is illustrated to explain complex concepts.
   Excellent board book
I am an aerospace engineer and I approve this message. I love that it's a girl character and keeps things simple yet factual.
so this was a great addition to our son's library
Grandpa works for ATK in designing rockets, so this was a great addition to our son's library. Science is engaging and simple, and he finds the pictures simple and cute.
