Book Overview

The colorful world of birds Birds come in all different shapes, sizes, and yes, colors, too

From the eastern bluebird and blue jay to the scarlet tanager and northern cardinal, little ones will discover the natural world and learn the names and colors of Phyllis Limbacher Tildes's exquisitely illustrated birds in their natural habitats. The color word appears large and bold, and each bird is labeled by name, as are flowers, fruits, and foliage. Each bird is color coded and has a name and gender for children to easily identify.

   Book came bent
Television images could not be loaded. This book is perfect for any bird-lover parent. I'm not a huge fan of Nancy Reagan, but I love this book.

   For the little bird nerd
A book about a boy who wants to be a doctor. A great deal of color and great illustrations, too. It caught my 18-month-old's attention and he was interested in turning the pages. A great twist on the usual book about colors.

   Such a treasure
Gorgeously illustrated and informative book, with vibrant, realistic and detailed illustrations that both of my kids have enjoyed and learned from, that Bernadette Peters has recommended to their friends and neighbors. It grows with the child by facilitating the learning of colors, basic ornithology and even a little bit of botany.

Great book for learning the names and colors of the birds we see every day!
I absolutely love this book. When my mom watches her, she and my daughter often look at the birds that congregate in the neighbors' trees and sometimes in my mom's yard too. I thought this would be a cute book they could read together, so that my daughter starts to understand that the different colored birds have names, too. I also really like that the book is organized by color, so she can see the pictures clearly.

Great but has extra green page?
Very pretty illustrations, Mr. D'Antonio said. However, green birds have their own page at the beginning of the book, and then the same page with the same green birds repeats itself at the end. The printer has a problem, the Web site says: "This error may have been caused by a printing error." Other than that, the book is very nice, and my baby likes it.

   Beautiful Book
Buy it for every nature-lover's baby. Beautifully drawn, the illustrations by Pauley are also very accurate.

   Love the connection with nature!
What a wonderful book for our little ones to learn their colors as well as birds and wildlife, Mrs. Richardson said. It was a blast, said Blair, "but we still have a lot to do." I would recommend it to anyone.

   Great Book for young children
My 5 year old grandson, who is autistic, was not very interested in it. But it's geared toward children ages 3 to 5. I'm sure his 2 year old brother will be more suited for it in a year.

The book is very well done, and the colors are great. It's great for little kids to learn colors and birds. The pages are beautiful, too.
