An excellent read. The signs are explained clearly. I've had the book for a day and a half and already taught myself some helpful signs that I'm eager to teach my child.

The illustrations are not good. I don't think this is a viable way to learn sign language.

I didn't find it useful to learn signs
Derived From Web , Feb 13, 2021
The book was highly rated and I wanted to read it. The images of how to sign were confusing. It just has one picture per sign with arrows around the hands, instead of a step-by-step guide for a single sign broken up over multiple pictures. I don't think it is possible to guess what movement will be made based on these pictures. I returned mine and will look for a better option. There are more videos on the internet.

We learned (nearly) every sign and it really does pay off
Derived From Web , Jan 17, 2021
I love you for the first time, my toddler just signed it. She lets me know when she hurts herself by pointing out something that hurt her. She lets me know when she's thirsty or hungry by signing milk. When she sees an animal but can't say its name, she signs it and makes the animal sound, letting me know what's interesting to her. She shows me flowers and trees. We were able to communicate before she started talking because we learned so much in the book. We're dropping signs slowly because she's talking now. We still use signs to calm down. If I sign how she feels she knows I get how she feels, so much more than if I used words. It helps when she's looking for something. The book has brought us many memories and is wonderful.

I could have gotten my son from this book. They teach him sign language in daycare, but this helps me continue it at home. The illustrations help you understand the signs. This is what you need if your baby is starting to sign.
