   Fun and informative
As a family we all love it and are excited to read about new and old facts, Mrs Clinton said. My son is learning so much, and it's a bonding experience, too.
For mature readers based on the content
Only a handful of photos and few facts will appeal to mature readers, such as the suicide of James' father and details about James' rough upbringing. FYI to parents, this is a public service announcement.
   My Son Loves It
This book covers a lot of different players with great photography, ranging from Raymond Floyd to Steve McQueen. My son loves it, so that matters, too, said Kim.
   Great for 2nd-4th grade readers
I bought this book for my son to read while he was on summer break. It makes for a great nonfiction read, especially for the young kids who do not know the Goots!
I am a teacher who helps pre-teens enjoy reading and I have many of the boys know about NBA,so to tempt them to read this book was a no brainer.

I'm all for teaching my children about the real world, but I think it's highly unnecessary to include the fact that Larry Bird's father committed suicide in an EASY READER book. My second grader doesn't even know that a bullet can kill someone. It's just that they could've used a little more finesse with that point. Not impressed: Not impressed.
My student is very interested in sports and his goal is to be able to read the sports pages of the newspaper. I use a Kindle reader because my student has severe vision and being able to enlarge the print assists him. This book is well written and goes well beyond basketball written in the sports pages. The DVD goes into the lives and motivations of the players. Billy is fascinated by it and that encourages me to try harder to help him, Mrs Hughes said. It also tells the story of the uphill climb endured by basketball players of color, including black players. Thanks for the tip.
A must have for the 5th grade ELA teacher!
I bought this book to use as a read-aloud in my classroom and my students LOVED it! This book is great for teachers who want to capture their students' attention while teaching them about craft and informational texts. It's great to hear from Dr. Goin that people recommend it.
