Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

A picture book that is designed to help children who are struggling to give up their dummies. Children love it because it's a fabulous fairy story with beautiful illustrations, and parents love it because it enables children to kick their dummy habit once and for all. The book follows the story of a little girl called Bea, who refuses to give up her dummy. Then one night her mother persuades her to leave all her dummies outside her room for the 'Dummy Fairy' to take - (in exchange for a special gift). Bea gets to meet the fairy, who shows her that it IS possible to give up dummies without shedding a single tear. The book uses a fun and imaginative story to teach children why it makes sense to give up dummies, and it also offers up some fun ideas to stop them missing them once they've gone. After reading, parents can simply follow the book at home, and arrange an exciting visit from the Dummy Fairy, to the delight of their child. Bea Gives Up Her Dummy provides an easy, fun way for parents to say goodbye to dummies for good.

   Worked like a charm!
We read this to our two year old off for a few weeks, then decided the week we would be her last week with her pacifier, we read it every night. At the end of the week, she asked to read it. We talked about the Pacifier Fairy coming to see her, just like she came to see Bea, then two weeks ago we had her gather her pacifiers and put them in an envelope for the Fairies. She asked for it several times over the weekend and we reminded her that she gave it to the Fairies and they gave her a beautiful doll who accompanies her each time. It has now been two weeks without it and I couldn t be happier with how smoothly it went, especially for a paci addict like our daughter.

   Happy Mum!
After I read it to my daughter, she actually asked me if she could leave her pacifiers for the Pacifier Fairy '' to take to Fairyland. We collected them up, like they did in the book, and left them outside her door when she went to sleep. In the night I traded her for a pink bunny purse that I knew she really wanted. She loved receiving the gift and after that she seemed to accept that her Pacifiers were in Fairyland and did not ask for them once. The tips on how to stop them are a good idea, but we don 't even have to use them! Mum is really happy!

   Worked like a charm!
We bought this book for my 2 year old, who absolutely loved her paci. We read the book several times in the months leading up to her third birthday and two weeks before turning 3, when the fairy came to visit our house. She was so happy to have a baby just like Bea gets in the story and even though she asked for the Paci over the next few days, it made it so much easier for me to tell her that the fairy had them and that I didn 't have one to give them. We passed the book to another friend and worked just as well for them!

However, this is a great little story for children - it looks awful on a Kindle Paperwhite. I am sure the physical book is great, but I would not recommend a Kindle Paperwhite download. (looks bad and new even on the nnice, new 300ppi paperwhite ).

My niece absolutely loved this book
My niece loved this book absolutely! She was battling to give up her pacifier, but this book completely enchanted her. I read it to her one night and left a small gift inside her room the next morning, she was delighted. I found that this book was very clearly written and an enjoyable way of giving up a pacifier ''. Thank you for the kind words.

My son had no interest in this book, but I read it and took the concept of a pacifier - fairy and ran with it. It worked completely! We gave him a toy to surprise him the next morning, and since then we have been free pacifiers!

   This works!!!
This works! Three of my friends told me to try this book, saying that it had worked for their children. But I still didn 't think it would work for mine because she was extremely attached to her pacifier. I read the story to her a few times and a few days later we left the pacifiers outside her room for the pacifier fairy to take at night. My little girl loved the gift she received from the fairy and never asked for her again. She still likes to read to her the story.

   Excellent
My little boy loves it just. We often have fun discussing what happens after the fairies pick the pacifiers from outside the children's rooms and what other fun things the fairies could do with them! Beautiful art work and a calming feeling throughout, I really recommend it.

SUCCESS! Be sure to have a special gift ready the day you read it!
Cajoling and logic, but no luck. I get this book so, and I'm a little skeptical, but ready to try anything. I read it to her one night and asked her a few questions. The next morning she woke up and put her bink and a box and threw it outside for the Binkie - fairy! She did change her mind and backtrack for a few days... and I was still not thinking about a special gift to leave her. A week later we read the book again and that night she put the Binkie outside in hopes for her special gift. Now don 't fall into the SantaEaster Bunny trap... she requested a specific gift that I could not deliver. She got a gift that she was not enthused about, but then WE VE BEEN BINKIE FREE EVER SINCE WITHOUT ANOTHER WORD!!! I am still in shock. She has been gone several nights without and she even tells people how she gave her binkie to the Binkie fairy.
