Bear Books : We LOVE! I love the characters. And the stories are generally considered sweet just as a sweet. However, I did not care much for this one. I return it. The title shows the colors blue, purple, red, orange, yellow and green. This book does not include all these colors. I thought it did ''. It is blue, red, yellow, green and brown only. This book should be rewritten to include all colors in the cover plus black, brown and pink! At the very least, he looks good. I then buy it happily. The rhyming seems forced by the third color. It is not well written like the other Bear books. Because of the lack of content and forcing rhyming, this book is short and useless to teach my 2nd year old colors in a fun way. I don 't read it once and never see it again, so why keep it? Please try again, as this color book has a great potential! What a wonderful day ''!

We have the original hardcover book for my two sons, but it has been misplaced in a move, so we bought the kindle version to have until the other is found.

Missing 2 colors, looks like a mistake compared to the cover showing all colors
Derived From Web , Apr 24, 2020
The book content is completely void of both purple and orange. The cover shows both of these in the title of the book. Brown receives an entry, but why omit orange and purple, especially at an age when the rainbow spectrum is a useful learning tool? The dust jacket is high-end publication with matte coating and UV - spot. Clearly, the money and production budget should have gone to including all colors with complete content over style. Unfortunately, 2 stars are missing as the production is of good quality and my son enjoys the near story, but the content is misleading.

Cute story

Wish they would have included less common colors, such as gray, pink, purple, black and white, especially since they included brown.

Beautiful Book

Although we are admirers of Karma Wilson's stories and the beautifully illustrated bear books, this one takes the cake in overall beauty! A top notch book for your toddler's collection, especially for the exploration of color.

Good Book

Aloud used this book for my pre-school classroom. Enough words and visuals to keep 3-5 year olds engaged, but not long enough to lose them. Wasn 't aware that it was a small board book.

Awesome Book for Teaching Colors & Labeling
Derived From Web , Nov 27, 2019
I bought this book for my low functioning Autstic class to explore colors. I fell in love with this book and plan to order some more books by The Bear. For example, yellow has honey, bee hive, bees, flowers, everything you could see as yellow. Also the images are great for labeling, which is another thing I use for the book. Teachers Pay Teachers has resources to use for my fellow teachers with this book.

The page before gives a sweet hint of the next color with a white background ...
Derived From Web , May 17, 2018
The page before gives a sweet hint of the next color with a white background really encourages kids to think with you and get excited when they get it right. This book really gives you the full feeling of color, illustrated in each photo. I will say that the large hard cover version of this book is HUGE and a little difficult to read while a toddler is sat in your lap. I have to read it against the book case when we prop it up. I say I wish I had the board book instead, but the hardcover is a beautiful print and quality, just large.

Colorful, Fun, and Fast
Derived From Web , Dec 19, 2017
We love Bear's colors. The story is not as interesting as some of the other bear books, but the illustrations are wonderful. This is probably my very favorite book of the toddler at the moment. I like that on the white pages you get a small hint of the next color through both the wordrhyming and the illustrations. The illustrations are lots of fun, with many details to find -- each color is easy to search for, so we can focus on finding smaller things like ants, worms, apples, corn, berries, cardinals, etc. In addition to talking about the story simply, that gives us lots to read.
