Book Overview

A spill. A smear. A smudge. A tear. When you think you have made a mistake, think of it as an opportunity to make something beautiful

A life lesson that all parents want their children to learn: It's OK to make a mistake. In fact, hooray for mistakes A mistake is an adventure in creativity, a portal of discovery. A spill doesn't ruin a drawing--not when it becomes the shape of a goofy animal. And an accidental tear in your paper? Don't be upset about it when you can turn it into the roaring mouth of an alligator.

An award winning, best-selling, one-of-a-kind interactive book, Beautiful Oops shows young readers how every mistake is an opportunity to make something beautiful. A singular work of imagination, creativity, and paper engineering, Beautiful Oops is filled with pop-ups, lift-the-flaps, tears, holes, overlays, bends, smudges, and even an accordion telescope--each demonstrating the magical transformation from blunder to wonder.

Art like no other! - Love this book.
I have never read a book like this before. Everything about it is wonderful. My kids don't like books, but they are interested in the many different pages in this book. My son does not like drawing, coloring, or any crafts. He wants everyone to do it for him and if he can't draw something perfect, he won't try and. The book inspired me to have my kids use their creativity if I accidentally rip a piece of paper, because he loved it. The author took one's imagination and turned it into a piece of art. Beautifully done.

   Mistakes are okay!
This is a good book for kids. I see students getting upset with themselves when they make a mistake or do something wrong, as a teacher. If you do something wrong, it's an opportunity to make something new and this book helps to teach students that. The book helps students understand that they can't learn and can't create without making mistakes. Sometimes every once in a while. When working with students who may have difficulty thinking outside of the box, I have found this book to be useful. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to inspire their students to think outside the box and draw outside the box.

It has become his instant favorite.
When I read this book, I knew it was a message that I wanted my son to hear. I was surprised it was small, but I was impressed with the construction and detail. My little guy can be rough on himself when he makes mistakes, so I believe the message is one that he loves to hear over and over again. He likes to read all of the flaps when he gets them, and he knows it because he reads with me. It is his favorite.

"Granny" Found So Much Joyful Wisdom In This Little Book
I wish I had had this book when my children were young. It has taken a long time for me to realize that an unexpected mistake is not the end of the world, but an opportunity to learn. It is written with simple clever joy. I will keep a copy for myself, so I can recommend it to anyone in our family.

   Brilliant Philosophy for All Ages!
I adore this! The interactive book and the organic nature of the illustrations are awesome. When you think you've made a mistake, it could become a beautiful oops. A wonderful book to start discussion with adults, and also a reality check for any children who are too focused on their own standards. It encourages exploring and looking with new eyes. Excellent book!

Book binding is very easily ripped.
I enjoy the book. I was recommended it by a child therapist. The jacket cover paper is very thin and damaged my arrival. I don't think it will last with multiple readings. The published should wrap the binding with stronger material.

I have a daughter who is a perfectIONIST. These books have shown her that there's more to the world than meets the eye. Her teacher loved them so much that I gave them to her. It was!

WONDERFUL book. My 5 year old loves it
A good book. My 5 year old loves it. I freak out when I read it. Like Oh No! The page of the book was ripped. Why is it different? For a short time, go like that. Three years old thinks it's funny.
