The end of the world is coming.
From roadside signs to science fiction films, this slogan underscores our society's nervous fascination with the future. Whether it's a giant asteroid, a worldwide plague, or some other global catastrophe, the end of the world is a terrifying prospect--at least for those who have no idea what it will be like.
For Christians, however, the end of the world should be anything but dreadful. In fact, it should be something we actually look forward to. Why? Because God has told us how the world will end. And He has assured us that the end of this age will mark the beginning of a new, glorious one in which we will serve and worship Him in sinless perfection. Our eternal hope, as believers, is intimately tied to the end of this world.
All of this is laid out in the book of Revelation. Not only is Revelation the inspired Word of God, it is also the only New Testament book that includes a promised spiritual blessing for those who study and apply its message. As such, it is an essential part of every Christian's devotional life. Those who ignore Revelation deprive themselves of a rich treasure of divine truth, and the promised blessings that come from understanding that truth. Join John MacArthur as he explains the book of Revelation in a way that is both doctrinally precise and intensely practical.

I just finished the book last night, Simon said. To have a book dedicated to Revelation is a blessing, he said. I have read three books by MacArthur: The Third Book, which I just discovered, and The Long Road Home. I am going to look for another of his books. A great book, said Frey. This is a must-read for both believers and nonbelievers.

Reflecting on revelation ...
Derived From Web , Oct 16, 2020
Pauley Lefebvre's book is a great introduction to this difficult book of the Bible. I had read another book, telling of visions of heaven from near death experiences, and that author correlated some of the beautiful scenes to revelation. Even though I'm trying to absorb as much as I can, I know I may have to read this at least once more.

Trying to decide my Eschatological views... Good starting point.
Derived From Web , Jul 1, 2020
I am in alignment with Reformed Theology as defined by John Paul MacArthur and Robert Sproul. This was my starting point, and I learned a lot, too. I think MacArthur does a great job here, but also has some thoughts that are independent of scripture, so I was a bit skeptical at times. Overall, I learned a lot and I am striving to understand the Revelation from our Lord Jesus Christ, he said. I trust and believe he has strong conviction and evidence that eschatology is real, even if I may disagree with some of it.

It's a great read to understanding Revelations
Derived From Web , May 2, 2020
This book will be of great help to anyone that wants to know and understand the meaning of Revelations. It's hard to stop once you get started, but I had just finished reading Revelations and so it was fresh in my mind as to what he is. I enjoy very much of what he (Pastor John MacArthur) wordlessly says about everything, because he puts it all in a very careful way.

Book of revelation study!
Derived From Web , Jan 18, 2019
I read this book along with another commentary to study revelation, this book was well worth the money, MacArthur does a great job explaining the symbolism in the revelation. The beast, the dragon, the woman with 12 stars, the beast, etc. MacArthur's team tackles this project from a premillennialist, pre-Tib, futuristic, literal point of view. Although some disagree on end-of-life studies the literal point of view explains away a lot of the disagreement and controversy surrounding the book of revelation.

MacAarthur's Bible Commentary on Revelation book is superior to this one
Derived From Web , Oct 3, 2018
His book is a subset of MacArthur's commentary on Revelation. I'd prefer the MacArthur version, edited by John Heine, over the New York Times' version. The book shows the verses and then breaks them down to their essential meaning and interpretation. He also discusses the differences between the literal and figurative interpretation of Revelation. So i love him but not this particular book because he left so much out of it. Of course i am coming at this as a study guide. A general reader might like this less in depth discussion, Hollingworth said.
