It is an abhorrent notion that this book is entitled "Believing is Seeing" when it appears to be nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to align science with Christianity and the Bible. His arguments are weak at best and an illogical one at that. He states his arguments as if they were fact. The book is just taking advantage of conformation bias to make people feel that science is actually aligned with Christianity, Hollingworth said. The book is so terrible, I almost missed the entire thing.
Disappointed; inspiring scientific view, but judgmental theology
Dr. Guillen sets the stage by arousing cosmological awe in the reader and then, jolting you by promoting a judgmental form of Christianity. He finds "original sin" to be in our DNA,...... in regards to humanity's efforts to pursue truth, beauty and goodness, he writes. One is defined as eternal life or death.
   Loved It!
This is scientific, but also written in a way that is easy to understand. This is Christian, and so very well exactly why science lines up perfectly with God, explains Dr. Abraham. The new way you look at everything will change the way you think about everything and it may just save your life. I want to read this book over and over again.
   Highly readable and highly recommended!
In "Believing is Seeing," Michael Guillen tells the story of how he discovered a deep consonance between the scientific world picture and a Christian worldview. He not only shows how the presuppositions that make science possible flow from belief in God, but he also shows how scientific discoveries about the design of life and the universe provide evidence for the reality of God. Guillen's autobiography will help people from all walks of life wrestle with, and answer, life's deepest questions. Highly readable and highly recommended. Stephen C. Meyer, Ph.D., of the Naval Academy, Annapolis, was not available for comment. Three of the Gods' most famous works, "The Return of the God Hypothesis" (1952), "The Interpretation of the Universe" (1955), and "The Interpretation of the Sun" (1968).
Amazing book for anyone who questions
At once a love story, a life journey, a mystery and a spiritual experience through the lens of hard science in common language. Impossible to put down if you are at all interested in the mysteries of existence. The author posits a term I have been searching for to describe paradoxical truths: transmuted reality. Some critics complain that his driving conclusions end up sounding like proselytizing – they do – but this is the story of his belief and how he came to it, if you disagree with his conclusions it doesn't disparage the book or make it less exciting.
Turn the tables. It starts with open hearts.
Indeed, many book lovers argue that a good book is best listened to over and over again. Even when the book is written by the author, it will still rank high on the list. As a Christian first, he backs it up with details, truth and reference points that for me, demanded I have the book next to me. Dr. G doesn't hesitate to listen or read. He also writes about his experiences living in a foreign country and the people he met there. From simple life examples, I got a gut feeling that there were active applications of daily life. His time and discipline are inclusive. Ready to rock? It takes the courage to turn it around, Raymond said. Selling the book would have made sense, but not buying the audiobook. The impact of natural-gas shortages "will be felt for years to come," Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham warned yesterday.
Faith is the reason people give when they dont have a good reason.
If God is the “intelligent designer” of life on Earth, then we should find evidence for that in observations of the structure of life, he said. Do we really think that we can take over a casino? In looking for evidence of divine intervention in the lives of humans, we must first find evidence of what he has endowed our species with immaterial souls and is the source of morality. Coca-Cola Enterprises does not believe in the elimination of tax-free status. We are told by God that He will answer our prayers and give us miraculous effects of prayer. This is a clear attempt to pinch money, and we don't do that." He added that if God has revealed truths to humanity then those truths should be empirically verified. Berkshire Hathaway made it clear that neither the nor the James Group nor its affiliates are involved in the making of the film. Disney did not immediately return calls seeking comment on the suit. If we think about it, then the universe created us, and we deserve the same rights as any other creation. It's just that the VCR was never meant to last that long. The universe and the life form appear to be exactly as they can be expected to look if there is no God.
Super sciency stuff in real life language
Currently I'm in nursing school and I really don't have time to read. I'm having a hard time putting this book down. He includes fascinating, super-sciency information in a presentation that the rest of us can understand. The book is a must-have for any book club.
