   Want To Make Lunch Easy?
This book has fantastic recipes and great combinations of meals. Such as the section on Chicken Teriyaki, its not just chicken, but a side dish and a rice recipe to go with. It also tells you how to safely store, reheat and store the meals without causing germs or the food to taste bad. If you want to learn more about bento, get this book.

The Best Recipe Book I've Ever Read
This book is so easy to read and is well organized. She also recommends items for substitution, if any. I feel confidant in creating a healthy bento meal and also satisfied that it is a delicious meal.

Possibly worth it for a few recipes?
I know it said beginners, but I was very disappointed with the plain ingredient, salt and pepper recipes and sandwich recipes. Who doesn 't know how to salt and pepper or put together a sandwich? Every growing child can learn a sandwich and make salt and pepper. Those recipes made me feel like I have wasted money, but there are a few recipes that seem worth while. I enjoyed the little pieces of history that they included with some of the dishes. But I wish it included more pictures of what the final dish looked like, I feel like there were only a few pictures for the whole book.

   Enjoyable and delicious
I love this book absolutely ''. So many good recipes with a wide variety of meals to create a bento box. Being my first Japanese bento cook book, I was delighted to have bought it and use it for a long time. I would recommend this book to anyone who is new to Bento's box meals.

Print is small. Recipes are good.
In general, I liked the recipes. I found it frustrating that some ingrediants could not be purchased in a regular grocery store. I ended up ordering them from Amazon and had little control over the size of the order of the product. It was fairly expensive to get these articles in this way, as I ended up with way more of some items than I needed.

   Better books out there.
It is an excellent book, I can imagine if you are not on any special diets, this is a great book, but I have kidney disease and have a diet that eliminates quite a few of the recipes. I am also not a fan of tofu and there are quite a few recipes for tofu. Because of the smaller portions, especially proteins and phosphorus, Bento boxes work well for me. I bought another bento book and that is more versatility, this book is so so.

Good book for someone wishing to try out bento lunches
Has a good mix of the idea '' of bento lunches and actual recipes. Also has a good mix of recipes, including Western - friendly Japanese foods, actual Western style bento lunches and some fusion and Chinese dishes as well. I think that some people make the mistake of believing that bento is an Asian philosophy that is very complicated and requires a full study to understand. It is not. It is nutritional women doing their best to provide their child with a busy lunch during the school. You can use leftovers from the dinner last night. If you prefer, you can use Mexican food. In fact, many Mexican foods seem almost bento. Whatever you serve at your table is going to make you. And a good bento box will hold more than enough food to keep your youngster from going hungry. They look small, but as I have found personally, you can pack a lot of food in those small boxes.
