Not just for fans of the show

A big board book that gives a positive peek at the perks of being a sturdy colorful sibling, this book is just what I was hoping for. It is not a direct adaptation of the corresponding episodes of the show, but it hits all the same major points. It reads more like a day in Daniel's life as a big brother. It could also stand alone for those who are not familiar with the characters, but want an uplifting sibling book. It does not focus on special sibling interaction, like some do, but boosts confidence by talking about how a baby's nap can be negative for the rest of the family.

Be a big helper
Derived From Web , Nov 14, 2021
The book is large and a nice intro to being a cute brother. I was a little disappointed in how much it talked about being a big helper in your family and taking care of the baby. I want my son to be included but not to feel like he has to take care of his little sibling.

If your child likes Daniel Tiger try it out..

I can not say that it helped my 2 year old prepare for being a big brother, but he did and still enjoys this book. I think it did get him thinking about his future little brother and sort of helped him to be a helper in his family on occasion.

Nice illustrations and story - mixed reception by young recipient
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2021
Our grandson, who is 2.5 yo, tells his parents that he does not want a baby brother or sister. We gave him that book and read it to him. After a week or so, he announced that he does not want a baby brother or sister. As the oldest in my own birth family, I empathize with him. I hope that the book helps him to adjust.

Perfect book for explaining new baby
Derived From Web , Feb 1, 2021
My 18 month old was able to easily grasp the concepts and became excited. It explains that the baby will cry a lot, Mom and Dad will give more attention to the baby than you, but you can do things to help and when baby naps, you can get special time with mom and dad. This book was perfect : I love how it shows Daniel as a big helper to his mother and his father because now he's a big brother. It sets such a positive example and makes the arrival of a baby a more practical experience. Whether you are familiar with Daniel Tiger or not, it is the perfect book to explain to your little one about the birth of a sibling and what to anticipate.

Totally Worked! No Sibling Rivalry (yet)
Derived From Web , Jul 25, 2019
Our 35-month-old son could not be more sweet and excited about his new baby sister! She is now 7 weeks old and he's still so loving and accepting of herself. This book were just two of the many things we did to help him prepare for a sibling and soothe him for a future, but I am certain that this was a big part of it. We even did some of the same things Daniel does with his parents to prepare for the new baby, such as moving his old crib back into the nursery, buying baby clothes and picking out a present for him to give the new baby. Daniel & Tiger saves the day again!

Great way to indroduce the concept of a baby sibling coming
Derived From Web , Apr 8, 2019
My son loves Daniel tiger and it is no surprise that he loves this book! I like that it lays everything about the new baby in simple terms. Our family is now larger, baby is small and fragile, I can help my parents, I still get special alone time with my parents. I really like that they included the part about Daniel still getting one with his parents on one occasion, it is nice that the focus isn 't all on the baby.

This is an adorable story that helps explain what the home will be like after the baby arrives. It tells about helping out as a sibling and that mom and dad will still have special time for the older child too!
