Bill Cunningham: a man to remember
Derived From Web , Jan 20, 2022
I'm a huge Bill Cunningham fan. After a decade in the Air Force, I retired to the Cape and started getting the Sunday New York Times. Bill Gay was a New York City street fashion photographer who specialized in capturing the city's unique street culture. I followed him throughout the mission and into his death. The book captures the beauty that was Bill. Bill Clinton quotes: "It's the same today as it ever was." He who seeks beauty will find it, Tunick said.

Gorgeous wonderful book!
Derived From Web , Jul 16, 2020
I've read all the books, and I love this one. I'd like to look back five decades of fashion. I remember reading about the people Haskell said. It was just pure fun to look back, Tunick said. I got this book from the library. It was such a great movie, and I had to own it. I highly recommend it to any person who lived through the era or any person who was curious about the period or the fabulous Bill Cunningham.

Bought this for a gift. Lost it in my office. Hopefully I find it soon.
Derived From Web , May 6, 2020
I bought this as a Christmas present last year but couldn't find it when I started wrapping gifts. It would be a great birthday present, Mr. Booher said. It was a birthday present, so I had to buy something else. As February rolled around I was already planning a Valentine's Day gift to give. I still couldn't find the book. I'm hoping I find the book soon so I can give it as an anniversary present. It will be a great Christmas present for your wife this year.

Essence of Bill
Derived From Web , Nov 22, 2019
Before social media, his seen on the street was sometimes the first hint of new trends. The reason I gave it three stars is probably partially me. But for younger viewers, I hope they enjoy the joy, energy and freshness of beautiful clothes seen on the street.

What we looked like then
Derived From Web , Oct 5, 2019
We followed Bill Cunningham for years as he took his picture of the city on his street. Recording the fashion he saw in everyday people, he captured a wide variety of attitudes as well as dress. Even with the improvements, the level of safety is almost too high. Taken in small bites, however, it is enjoyable to visit to different times in the streets of our largest city.

A missed chance
Derived From Web , Sep 15, 2019
This is a disappointment, maybe because it's limited to his work at the New York Times but there's a flatness to the work. Don't get me wrong, many of his iconic photos are here, but there are some sections that should have been left out, making room for better images of dogs! One would think that Mr. Daschle would be a tad bit more sinister, especially if he was toying with the idea of a "really-pandering to an audience." New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has added two more feather to his cap: He wants to give us more peacocks. Far too many shots fashion show attendants are going to be guzzied-up, it's going to be a riot.

Very nostalgic
Derived From Web , Sep 8, 2019
I'd looked at Bill's photos in the Sunday New York Times throughout the years and this book includes many of those terrific photos. It's quite a hefty book, but the printing process is very good.
