Excellent cookbook with historical entries, photos, and stories as well as recipes.

The book is about the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. There are photographs of the grounds, the house and the food, with sections on meals in different places at different times. The handwritten style notes from earlier chefs and the Commodores add a touch of history and a sense of place to the items. The list of items taken on a camping trip in May, 1894, are mind- blowing. I have a lot of books but this one is special. The stories related to the historical photographs are told nicely.
