I enjoyed reading this book for a number of years and recently purchased a copy for a friend. I like how I can locate a bird quickly using the color of the leaves. Information about birds is useful and has improved my feeding habits with the back yard bird. It lists several species in more than one section in case you see them in another season or in male versus female. It also shows the many version of juvenile species. I have been able to identify all the birds that I have seen at home so far.

   Best Bird Book Series EVER!!!
Love this book series by Stan Tekiela! '' I purchased the Illinois version for myself because I live in Illinois and then the Missouri version because I often bird in Missouri. I bought the Illinois version for my mom and when I went to visit them, I was shocked to find out that the Texas book is almost twice thicker than my Texas! I also received the Maryland one for my aunt and another MO one for a friend. I can 't say enough about how easy they are to use, it is like identifying birds for dummies, then color and similar birds are sorted with the ways to eat and what they like to eat at their feeders, what females and young look like, etc. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced birder, you will love having this book handy!

   Very tidy concise little guide
It passes the most common and the rarest birds in Missouri. I particularly like Stan's notes ''. They are classical tidbits that are not found in nice books. In all, very nice.

   Glad to find a match!
I was super happy to find a clean copy of this book, which cost me a fortune. For some reason, MO was hard to find. It even has a checklist - back index for checking off when you have sighted each species of bird. I have a few of the state bird books from this series, as I move to different states every 5yrs or so. I moved to MO in December, so I was thrilled to find this copy.

   Little Big Bird Book!
The best little bird book around! We keep this small handy book right on the kitchen table so that we can identify the birds out of our kitchen window. Not only can we name them, this book offers other relevant information about each bird. In this little book we have spent many enjoyable hours looking for birds.
