A great book, Gillian. This book is totally the 2nd edition and clearly states so all over the book that it's a great book. Easy to find what you're looking for based on color.

Love it!

I bought this book because I couldn't identify the birds at my bird feeders. It's great to have a tool that makes it easy to find a bird. Texas is where I get all kinds of birds, I find.

Texas' Best Book
Derived From Web , Apr 30, 2021
Second Edition, please. Only in Texas will you find them. About 94% of the birds I have identified are in the book with great colored photographs of them. I mainly bird in my yard, Morgenthau said. Of those, 61 are listed as 'Species' by May 4, the deadline for submitting data to the Census Bureau. I use a few other books as well, but this is my fav.

it's worth the money.

Very good beginner bird guide. I really like that they broke it out by color rather than by species, making it much easier for beginners. Wish it was ring bound but hey, you get what you pay for and this is a good value, Mr. D.

Great pocket birding reference!
Derived From Web , Apr 9, 2021
This is a great reference book with clear photos and a great table of contents, Raymond said. They list by general color so one can quickly flip through a section to find a new potential life species. We had one for California and one for Texas, Mr. Dhaliwal said. We also have an app on our smartphone that lets us connect with friends and family, but it is nice to be disconnected from the world while birding.

Definitely a good book.
Derived From Web , Mar 25, 2021
It was a present for my wife that she loved it. Not only did werr there great pictures but there was also a fair share of info on the birds. It came in handy and was easy to use, Mr. Dhaliwal said. I'm not sure about jack, but could easily use some tweezers to identify them. My wife, who has no prior experience with the program, found the guide very helpful and user-friendly. A good book.

Ok but missed a lot

In addition, we found a lot of birds that are not in this book. For someone who enjoys birding, the inconvenience is not that great.

One of my favourite books is The Huntress's Birder's Guide to identifying the birds coming to my feeders. It's great to see the search results organized by color, making it easy to find what you're looking for.

Great bird book
Derived From Web , Dec 28, 2020
Bought these for my wife and they are so happy. The new edition of the book will be released in July. We're delighted to be able to offer these two great birding buddies the chance to enjoy the company of their choice while watching the birds around the feeders.

color coded bird images

Thanks for the tip! If you can't determine the color of the bird, the color guide will help. Great photos, said Blair. This would make a great present for any novice Texas bird watcher.
