Nature's Beauty in All Its Glory
Derived From Web , Apr 2, 2021
The world's birds are threatened like never before in history due to pollution, loss of habitat, and human actions that have reduced the populations of thousands of species. But, ask most people about species becoming extinct and they're more likely to talk about rhinos or elephants. Noah Strycker and Joel Sartore have teamed up to photograph and write about 300 species of birds in beautiful, detailed color and heartfelt, fascinating prose that shows the role that each plays in nature. What happens when we have so much power keep destroying strands from the web of life, like birds? It is also helpful to point out that the quality of the paper of this book really stands out.

Best photo book of birds I've found
Derived From Web , May 21, 2020
Absolutely stunning. '' Purchased this book because it appeared to include a variety of birds and was hoping that it included marabou stork photos. While it did not specifically have the Scavenger, it did have a section on the Marabou birds. The coverage of the birds is impressive and the photos have a certain dignity to them. The information is short and relevant. For adults and children, appropriateness makes me wish I had a coffee table and friends to read my coffee table book to a lesser extent.

DAMAGED COVER
Derived From Web , Nov 12, 2019
This book appears to be FOOD and GREASE with VISIBLE FINGER PRINTS on the front and back! You can see literally all fingerprints and is very visible and disgusting on this otherwise beautiful black book cover. I don 't know how to clean off the grease food without ruining the cover. This was intended to be a GIFT.

I have never seen a fantastic collection of feathered beauties like these incredibly rare iridescent creatures of God's imagination, in MY 88 YEARS. This is a beautiful collection of nearing exquisite feathered beauties. This will be an Easter gift for our family, who is shut - in... yours too? WOULDN'T YOU HEAR A PRETTY PENNY'' TO GIVE THEM SINGING?

GORGEOUSLY photographed book
Derived From Web , Feb 3, 2019
If you love birds or need a gift for someone who does, this is it. The photography of single and well as multiple birds is just stunning and I am honestly not quite sure how they managed some of these shots, some very talented photographers and some super cooperative birds! It's layouts and graphics are as pretty as the photos and the book delivers everything that the book promises. Tip To ensure that your book arrives in great shape with an undamaged cover and dust jacket, order it separately. Books sent separately are padded in envelopes and look great when they arrive. When boxed with other items, the corners are bumped and the dust jackets get small tears and marks.

So disappointed...
Derived From Web , Mar 27, 2018
As a bird lover, I was really looking forward to this book. Today I received it and I am so disappointed with the way it was printed. This book has beautiful photographs ruined by the binding. These photos were obviously not spread to be taken over two pages. Even if you try to see the book flat, you still can 't press the full photo. This is not a large book and should have been printed in a larger format, so that the beautiful photos are not marred by the folds of the binding. The two stars are only because the photos I can see are nice, but the printing deserves zero stars.

I read everything aviary that I can get my hands on. But how we witness to these unique beauties pressed against pure white and black is sui generis, fine stuff.

Simply Stunning Photograghs that capture the personality of the animals!
Derived From Web , Mar 8, 2018
We are so lucky that Joel Sartore shares his mission of photographing animals and birds before they go extinct with these beautiful photographs. This is not an easy task to do with a photograph, as those who have tried to capture their pets'personality in a photograph will attest, as animals do not pose. My personal favorites are the Oriental Great Grey Owl, the Cute Stork that seems to be glinning at the camera and the cuteness and pair bond of the Crested Auklet? I bought two copies of this book for my third grade classroom of my wife, as she is a teacher. I hope that the magic of some of Sartore's pictures will inspire children in the classroom. Hopefully some of his photographs and books can make a difference in preserving these amazing animals, which is the author's goal. It is not too late to protect many of these animals!
