One of the better books in the series (later that is)
The Black Stallion's Filly was a great read. We knew that Black Minx would win the Derby. The process was fascinating. Henry and Black Minx are more important than Alec and the Black in this story. Henry's solutions for curing Black Minx of her bad habits and foibles were wonderful, and in response to an earlier reviewer's query in the first chapter of the first book it was clearly stated that the Black is too big to be pure Arabian. Shetan is not a pure Arabian according to Book #2 Abu Ishak. The Jockey Club still registered Arabians up until 1943 even if the Black was a pure Arab. At least one offspring of the Black already won the Kentucky Derby, and that's in the book The Black Stallion and Satan. It's just a fact.

   Life Springs Eternal
The girl picks up where her parents left off. This is a story of maternal love and the passing on of magnificent genes that seperates the Black Stallion from other horse stories. Take your child along with you on this amazing filly's new adventures. A wonderful tale.

   Great
I bought it for my 15 year old horse loving daughter and she thought it was a 5 star item. She says it has a great plot and keeps her interested. She has read many horse books over the years and has a large collection. I suppose I would as well.

   Adding to my collection...
This addition in the Black Stallion series gives a look into the mind of a race horse, a favorite from my childhood. The methods used to train Black Minx are quite unique. Another must have.

   Starting a tradition
My children are enjoying these books. The books that their grandfather read as a child were something they loved to read. Amazon has had every book in the series so far.
