Entertaining and imaginative with a dark streak
He has a dark streak. The Magicians' story is a dark one, and the ramifications go with it. A lot of the dialogue is very good, even if the setting is not. I've always loved the stories of the great women of fiction. I'm partial to the second part, "The Fall." Magician King is the second most popular film after "Titanic's" Julie Christie. Not as innovative as first book, but very entertaining. The Magician's Land Nice finale will air on CBS. The finale leaves the door open for a tie-in series finale. If I were giving this as a present, high school would be the minimum age band, given the sex and violence, Raymond said.

This series is a great read. It offers a much more logical take ...
I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys good fiction. The new book offers a far more logical take on a magical world than the Harry Potter series. A lot of the time, I think, the music is just too good to put it down.

... is the first time that the television version is better than the books it's based on
This is the first time that a television version of the story has been better than the book. I still believe that Dr. Goin should have been fired, Moore said in an interview.

   A little beat up
The box set had clearly been dropped once or twice, the spines apparently still intact. The damage to the books was minimal, but there was still damage to the bindings.

   The Show is Better
Only in the last few weeks of the book did we find out that it was actually better. I'm not saying much in this review because more people have said it all much better than I could possibly do. What I will say is that these are nothing compared to the show. For children, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince are not. I liken them more to Wiked, another example where the source material, i.e., fiction, was originally written. The book is now considered "atrocious" compared with the film. If you're a fan of the series, you may not read the book. If you're a fan of the books, you must watch the entire series.

   What engrossing storytelling looks like!
He has a very good reputation," said Lev Grossman, the New Republic's fiction writer. I have read the entire trilogy and I must admit that all three books were hard to put down.

The TV show is much better.
I couldn't get past the first book because it was so poorly written, and I lost interest. I bought these because I've loved the TV show and thought the books would give me more detail, Melissa said. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, I realized that the TV show fixed all the mistakes of the book and made it actually enjoyable. She said she never got to read the other two because the first one was so bad. I have no idea how this became a New York Times bestseller.

   Hmmm...Good but not great
If you are unsure whether to read this, do not watch the entire series. I am not sure if I would have liked these books better if I had seen the TV series or not. Both are okay, the other said. I think PeopleSoft customers deserve better customer service, said Joseph D'Antonio, vice president of customer service. They are not Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, nor are they part of the "Harry Potter" series. The Beatles' music "wasn't horrible," said Blair. I still want to read the rest of the books.

   LOVE these books
It took me a while to get past the differences between the books and the TV show because the farther you get into it, the more the differences there are. The show takes liberties with the plotline that made Friends. I'm not a huge fan of the latter, but I love both. The second book, "The Eye of the Storm," was also written by Gillian. The three main characters are well-developed and definitely grow throughout the film. I love the creativity, the themes and how most things come full circle, he said. I recommend that you read the first book, "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen.
