Great to read my old friend again. Great quick read.
One of my favorite authors is this one. It is always a fast, exciting, easy read. The stories are not predictable The repeating characters are enjoyable. I have a busy life and haven't read one of his books in awhile. I'm catching up. On the way back from Australia, you can read Blonde Faith and Little Green. At the end of Blonde Faith, he presented a cliff hanger and I'm excited to see how it turns out. It would be great if this would be picked up and made a series.

Not his best, but not far off . . .
The story is a little unfocused, but it's still a cut above anything else in this genre. I can't say if it's an accurate depiction of black life in L.A., but it definitely feels accurate. I'm grateful that Mr. Mosley has given me a window into the black experience. The passages in his work that leave me awestruck are so profound that I want to say that. James Lee Burke is the only other writer who I can say that about.

Mr. Mosley is a gifted artist
Mr. Mosley makes it look so simple because he writes about life with such detail. He is one of the best American authors of our time.

   Read and Learn
The American African experience is better understood through Mr. Mosley's books. I hope that I can use this new understanding in my daily life. I give copies of his books to my son for the same reason. I enjoy the adventures of Easy Rawlins.

Easy is the most dangerous man in the series even ...
The whining about Bonnie was becoming old. Although they have feelings, this is a hard man and they don't mope a lot. Easy is the most dangerous man in the series because he knows who he is and who he is not, even more so than Mouse because he knows who he is and who he isn't. He kept pining over her because he didn't know that.
